I love James' pre-chorus in "New York" - one of my favourite moments on the entire record. Definitely agree that Matt was criminally underutilized and should've got more of the spotlight, but I can't complain when you have the vocal prowess of Charlie leading each song. It'll be interesting to see if they even out the vocal duties again on album four.
I was staring at it during their Q&A on facey. I reckon it's gotten bigger. Lucky for Chaz it's in fashion now with models Jess Hart etc. I heard some crazy rumour a few people are requesting them at dental places. He's still a handsome bugger though
Hahaha. Yeah, same thing with bushy eyebrows (ie cara delevingne) which is good for me too, haha. Yeah, not slating him he's definitely a good looking guy. I used to rate Matt's style but nowadays question his dressing sense and shaved head tbh lol. But yeah, looks wise Charlie always seems like the frontman (being freakishly tall helps) nevermind his vocal prowess.
I like it, I love some of the songs (WHTYB, I See Red, Riding on My Bike) but overall it definitely feels rushed, and lacks a sense of identity. I like every Busted and McFly album more than that. I think Night Driver is way better. I feel like I rank their earlys singles significantly lower than most fans out there. Year 3000, WIGTSF and Dawson's Geek are all in my bottom five Busted songs. I still enjoy them a fair amount but I don't like them anywhere near as much as the album only tracks. I've always adored McFly, I even preferred them to Busted at one point (silly me). Danny used to be my favourite vocalist and I still think his voice is fantastic but I think Charlie's just more diverse. Touch the Rain is one of my favourite McFly songs though and I'm so, so sad we still haven't gotten a studio version of it and now with them saying they've scrapped the album they had ready pre-McBusted we might never get one. That's the worst thing about McBusted to me! It's just insane to me that there's been the same amount of time, almost more, since McFly's last album as it took them to put out their first five albums..
I think Busted's first album was fine, but besides the two big tracks it isn't anything special. I think the second one, which in the Netherlands featured a new version of What I Go To School For, was pretty great. It was Pop Punk, but with a very unique twist and some legitimately great and commercially viable song writing. I therefore never understood why people called it just a a washed-up Good Charlotte/Blink/Simple Plan/Whatever rip-off. It just wasn't. I think this album is much less unique though, which is a little disappointing.
me neither. I thought it'd mostly be my and Broden talking about how much we love them which it still mostly is I guess..
Beautiful Mess reminds me of The Killers instrumentally. EDIT: Also that Time After Time cover is terrible and Matt sounds atrocious. Don't like the song anyway though.
Roughly On mcfly. I saw on iTunes pre order just then they got some bloody 69 song live album out this Friday. Strewth!!
yeah, that's from when they did their anthology tour this year playing all five of their albums over three nights. I went to one of the shows and it was great. I think their fanbase is getting a bit sick of live albums and greatest hits though, there's been like 4 of them since the last studio album.
Yeah, I don't rate this record at all. Not sure I like a single song on it. New York's pretty cool I guess. They should go back to guitar based stuff; they're not good at this.
I love Matt and Charlie's parts on that song but I'm really not into the chorus/bridge. It'd probably tie with Coming Home for my least favourite.
I love everything about that song although I feel like the chorus, or lack of, is a bit disappointing and feel like there should have been more to it. Verses and Charlies pre chorus are fab though.
Got bored so I ranked every Busted song. 1. Meet You There 2. Loner in Love 3. Why 4. Those Days Are Gone 5. Better Than This 6. Can't Break Thru 7. New York 8. Nerdy 9. Over Now 10. By the way, I just realized that the tracklist of my Dutch hard copy of A Present For Everyone is completely different from the one I now see on Spotify. Like there are tracks I was not aware of. What is going on?! Busted had such a weird career internationally.
This one (attachment). And yeah it was weird, but I think the label was to blame. In the Netherlands they had to sell their music under the name "Bust" by the way, because some random Dutch band owned "Busted" On Spotify I now see the "EU Version" which has tracks I did not know about, but no "Falling For You" (for example).
