I just unfollowed Charlie and then refollowed him to see if he was doing the same as James but no luck haha
This is more like it, I love this song! I think it maybe sounds like something off The 1975's debut album?
I get slight 1975 vibes. I get big 1975 vibes from the album trailer. I know Charlie's a fan of them and they were playing multiple 1975 videos before their show when I saw them so I'd guess they were an influence on the album.
I just hope the new album sounds more like "On What You're On" than "Coming Home". Loving the vibe of this new song.
I think it will. James said "Coming Home" is more like an appetiser than a song and Matt said this is way better and none of them picked this or "Coming Home" as their favourite on there.
I've had the chorus stuck in my head all day. I really like this song and I'm assuming that, like previous Busted albums, the best is yet to come.
This is exactly what Busted should sound like in 2016, really happy with this song and my hope that this album will be good has been restored.
Sounds just like Can't feel my face by The Weeknd. Not what I expected but I guess they want to fit in with what's popular these days.
Has a kind of Daft Punk meets Maroon 5 vibe with a The 1975 aesthetical video. Still early listens but there's nothing all that captivating for me. It's alright but there's far catchier songs in this genre and the fact that this is the lead single lowers my expectations a bit.
Got a really strong Daft Punk meets The 1975 meets Maroon 5's funky guitar work. Really dig the chorus, Charlie sounds fantastic as usual.
Well I finally listened. Not what I expected. But think this album after 2 singles is going to be expect the unexpected I quite like it. I've always liked that type of music I know when I first turned 18 and could go clubbing that type of music was huuuge in Sydney Australia coming off the back of a massive Daft Punk tour, the local house music scene and Jamiroquai being wildly popular. It brings back memories of 2005-07 for me This could actually be a big hit. It's stuck in my head after one listen Charlie is a beautiful man. And even almost pulls off that white satin jacket!
Can't believe I've never heard that song in full. Put Charlie's vocals on that and the three harmonising together during that last rendition of the chorus, that would elevate the song to another level. Wasn't it supposed to be on that Call Me When I'm 18 project he was working on 6-7 years back that never eventuated? I hope "Go Home Monday" resurfaces online someday - that was fantastic and massively Son Of Dork-esque.
Yeah, Go Home Monday, Dumbstruck, and an acoustic Gone were the only Call Me songs that came out, but Dangerous, One of a Kind, and this full-band Gone was supposed to be a solo project under his own name. You know Go Home actually was a SOD song right? haha. As far as I'm aware, it was supposed to be on the re-release of their first album with like 5 or 6 new songs (Go Home Monday, What Happened to Your Band, Colgate Smile, etc.) but then they broke up.
Haha, that would certainly explain the Son of Dork vibes then! Now that I think about it, James has got a lot of stellar demos floating around. "Break It" was another one that was intended to be on the Call Me When I'm 18 project. "End Up Like This" is fantastic and was essentially the first new song he wrote after the Busted split. "Loser With No Life", "28,000 Friends" before he allowed some X-Factor contestant to completely butcher it, "Want Me Like That", etc.
Ahhhhh right, forgot about Break It. I think 28,000 Friends was a SOD song too. You ever hear the Teen Hearts version? The guy's vocals are soooo bad but it's prob what a James studio version woulda sounded like. I always had a suspicion about the fact that this dude just straight up decided to cover/record it without any permission lol
It doesn't have boring vocal melodies imo, that's one of the catchiest songs of last year for sure! The Weeknd is one of my favourite artists/vocalists.
