Yeah, re-record of Loser Kid. Sounds like they're doing a bunch of collab re-records for a new album which should be a fun listen.
Gonna have to get tickets because I've put off going to see them before Also it's been 4 years since this album, I hadn't even realised
Give me a new studio album of original material over guest feature re-recordings. I won’t pretend I won’t at least check it out, though.
Unfortunately with this band nostalgia is going to be king. To the point I will treat any new material out of them as a surprise rather than expected. And why not? Do a quick run of big shows to earn some money so Charlie and James can go make the music they want to make and Matt can go do whatever it is he does nowadays.
yeah that's kinda what I'm hoping which is why I'm cool with no new album right now. My dream is that after this tour Gunship will be about done with their new album cycle and then we can get some Fightstar!
https://rocksound.tv/news/busted-meet-you-there-neck-deep loooool this album is gonna be a fever dream
I'm sure the features will be fun but if they're really changing the songs up I'd probably prefer to just have them do it lol.
James wants Robbie Williams on the song. That's cos Year 3000 was inspired by his hit 'Millenium'. He did reply to a tweet implying it would be ideal for Jonas Brothers featuring too (for verses). Jonas Brothers did also cover What I Go To School For (although their PG version is lame):
I love that Busted are about to drop one of the biggest pop-punk/rock collab albums ever. Hopefully this gives them more respect on the scene, which they thoroughly deserve. Any other hopeful or realistic artistic collaborations? Beyond the pop punk scene, I know James has a good relationship with Wheatus and they've toured together. Busted are about to tour with Hanson too. Maybe Jonas Brothers could feature on What I go to School For (which they also covered) or Year 3000. 5 Seconds For Summer did a Year 3000 cover back in the day (available on YouTube). A Mark Hoppus feature could be a possibility and dream collab. They recently mentioned some other big artists who were Busted fans (i.e. Ed Sheeran, Niall Horan, and even Adele). Hopefully get some high profile artists to boost the popularity of the lesser known acts. Honestly hyped for all this, haha.
Loser Kid 2.0 (feat. Simple Plan) is now out: https://spotify.link/IEQLQFOdZyb Pierre was a good fit for the song. The drums and guitar are more pronounced (which is something Charlie always wanted but the label pushed back on in the earlier days). Their vocals sound a bit too autotuned at times though. The song itself is a deep cut classic so it's nice to see it get some more love amongst their other hits. Hope there's more deep cut songs.
