that's what I initially thought but I feel like they have to be re-recordings. they've got "falling for you" on the regular version but not on the re-done guest one? so I'm thinking maybe they couldn't get a guest for that to work out in time. plus the track times match each other on both versions on itunes
honestly the only guests I'd really care about are Hanson and McFly and one of them isn't a Busted song and the other is the worst Busted song.
The Year 3000 re-recording is a masterpiece, that is all. Like if nothing else comes out of this project, that makes it all worth it imo. EDIT: Also I just noticed the typo in the tracklisting... whoops
Surprise surprise, Gil Norton is a better producer than Charlie - many of these re-records have too much vocal processing, although I admit Year 3000 and the Mmmbop cover are total bangers. At least they’re generally rockier-sounding than the originals…but no-one’s talking about the reappraisal of Loser Kid by the band! They must really love it now - it was the first thing released from this campaign, they’re rehearsing it for the tour, and it’s up second on the vinyl where IMO it sticks out like a sore thumb. Everything else on that is a top-3-charting single. Do other people think it’s worth that? For my money it’s my least favourite of all their album closers. Busted themselves didn’t have it on the Halfway There setlist.
and that’s just the CD - the streaming/downloadable version also has She Wants To Be Me feat. Bowling For Soup
I’ve been skimming. I can’t believe how badly they fucked this up in terms of sound after how good Halfway There sounded.
Busted could finally earn their first Number 1 album! Busted blaze ahead for first Number 1 album with Greatest Hits 2.0 I saw them live in Birmingham recently and they were great. So many bangers. The new Greatest Hits album is alright. I enjoy 3AM 2.0 and MMMBop 2.0 cover the most. Their new song Good One grew on me too. Either way, it's cool how many guests they've had on this album, seeing the songs get new life (in a more rock-ish way that probably satisfies Charlie) and seeing the band being successful with the tour and album sales.
It blows my mind that they never had one, must have been bad luck in terms of release weeks, they were so huge after all
Looking it up Justin Timberlake and Michael Jackson beat them back in the day. They made it to number 2 with Half Way There too so they could have their 4th number 2 if Olivia Rodrigo sells enough lol.
The other new song they put out is as bland and boring as Good One. Really hope their next album is more interesting than these songs.
Can’t believe I’m saying this because he’s one of my absolute favourite musicians, but Busted is more than just Charlie. He doesn’t have to take the lead vocal on every track. If I think back to A Present For Everyone, probably my favourite record of all time, I think of the layered and overlapping vocals, the soaring melodies and pulsating choruses. Everyone had their moments in the spotlight to propel the tracks forward. Since their reformation, outside of a few select songs, I haven’t felt that same collaboration.
agree w/ the Charlie comment, you almost knew exactly what "one of these days" was going to sound like before you played it lol. catchy as shit though. i'm just glad they all seem super happy. the live album should be fun too....even though it comes out in may???
Their first two albums are back in stock on vinyl for anyone that missed out. Disappointed that the debut doesn’t feature “When Day Turns Into Night” and “Everything I Knew”. Likewise A Present For Everyone is missing “Falling For You” and “Loner In Love”, but they’re going straight onto my wall anyway. https://bustedhits.com/
Yeah missing some of the best songs on each album! Also funny seeing people getting mardy about them playing download lol.
