Listening to their greatest hits album. I can’t believe they’ve never had a GH album before. Let’s talk about this band. They were huge for me as kid. Glycerine was one of the first songs I learned on guitar. Their recent material is solid too! Slow Me became one of my all time favorite Bush songs!
One of the first concerts I saw was Bush in 1997. It was a radio festival in Queens where they headlined also with Luscious Jackson, Foo Fighters, Blur, Echo & The Bunneymen and Soul Coughing.
Little Things is my fave! haven't listened to much of any more recent stuff but enjoyed this, also Gavin looks JACKED
Golden State remains my favorite Bush album. Been listening to the 20th anniversary release all morning.
Bush is definitely among my favorite bands in the genre. The Kingdom was such a fucking dynamite album, especially for the modern era of the band. "Blood River" especially is a killer track. I also love Institute, which really was just a Bush album under a different name. I'd say my least favorite works from him are his solo album and Black And White Rainbows, which still are good listens with a lot of good tracks, but they're a little off the beaten path from Rossdale's strengths.
“The record company threw the CD and said, ‘Not only are there no singles on this record, there’s no album tracks’”: Gavin Rossdale recalls record labels not believing in what was to become Bush’s most well-known album
How have I not listened to Institute before?? I've seen the album cover a million times, but I guess never realized it was Gavin Rossdale and Josh Freese kicking ass together. I just hit play on the album and "Bulletproof Skin" rules.
I've been jealous of Gavin's hair since I was a kid. Now I'm a adult with a shaved head and I'm still jealous.
Science Of Things has some of their coolest stuff, I think, even if it doesn't always work. But it has what is arguably their heaviest song ("The Disease Of The Dancing Cats"), some real bleak stuff ("English Fire", "Dead Meat"), but opens with "Warm Machine", which is so joyful, and the lyrics of "Letting The Cables Sleep" have always touched me. "Silence is not the way, we need to talk about it." Really true way to be IMO.
Been listening to razorblade this week. Underated album too…just like Science of Things haha. I completely understand the comparisons to In Utero, which isn’t a bad thing. Anyways…it’s super rad to hear how these guys have modernized their sound over the years. Especially on their new album.
Golden State needs more love. What a great fucking album. Been listening to it a lot the past few days. It still remains my favorite Bush album. Been listening to The Kingdom too. Tons a sick riffs and vocals on that album. It’s aging extremely well.
