My friend is calling this as precursor to an album which I hope is true as I could see these both working better in long player format

 

i was thinking about how soon itll be 10 years since his last LP...would be nice if this lead into that, nice anniversary gift

 

There's rumor it's a single for an album bc this one is being sold as single w/ b-side and not an EP like the others. Idk the truth to that though.

 

I mean he's also the type of artist that would just put something out without hype and press cycle or something, wishful thinking but not improbable

yup it was and this release seems similar to that one. not getting my hopes up for a full length. he'll probably give us another ep in 2019, which is totally fine with me haha.

 

Pitchfork review is pretty spot on

 

solid tracks, but the weakest he has done in a while

what did you guys think of his collabo with Zomby? I like it a lot, but many thought it was awful haha

 

I liked it, didn't love it.

I will say that I do love the two new songs, but also agree that it is some of his weakest output in a long while.

 

Ultra is a very good record but Sweetz is far from my favorite on it. Still dig it.

 

Zomby is sick, I really uh love With Love and his stuff in general

 

I've been listening to "Young Death" a lot. Good as mood music. I feel like it could be a precursor only because it feels like a piece that works better in an album context, rather than the tracks on Rival Dealer which feel like standalone pieces

Claustro is huge

 

Both tracks are great, I like them a lot more than the Subtemple and Rodent singles
