Excited. Also. I likely knew this before and forgot. But, loved to read that tweet and be like, hell yeah, Stavros is in this.
Looks good. I know it's a remake of a Japanese(?) film, but it also looks a lot like They Look Like People (2015), which I would definitely recommend to folks.
I saw Dogtooth in full for the first time the other day at a theater and it was amazing - by far the best one I’ve seen of his, but I also still need to watch Killing. The audience was not at all prepared.
I'm a Lobster guy personally. I can understand why people would pick pretty much any of them as his best though, they're all so damn good.
I know we talked about it in the horror thread but I did too, and that momentum has me even more stoked on this new one
i don't think poor things is bad but it isn't very good either didn't bother with kinds of kindness. looked bad.
I would call Poor Things good, or at the very least interesting, and Kinds of Kindness great, but I also understand how either could be not someone's speed Dogtooth is the closest I've come to disliking one of his films, but I think I just struggled with the content and themes in that one.
The Favourite is my favourite. I like all the performances in Poor Things, but I have zero desire to ever revisit it. This looks good.
I like that we have two movies coming up where handsome leads (Leo and Plemdog) are playing sweaty, unkempt weirdos.
