Hey Jason Tate...are you still so sure it's my "general attitude" that needs commenting on? I'm not the one antagonizing other users by name, taking the thread off-topic, and generally being derisive. But I'm new here and maybe I don't understand how things are supposed to work. What I do know is that your Code of Conduct says things like:

"Examples of unacceptable behavior by participants include: Personal attacks, Trolling or insulting/derogatory comments, Public or private harassment...Other unethical or unprofessional conduct"

and

"Disagreements, arguments, and sarcasm are sure to be found within the threads of this forum, but our aim is to raise the level of discourse away from ad hominem attacks and to a debate or discussion of the ideas themselves."

And your Moderation Policy says things like:

"Our goal is not to stop difficult conversations from happening; however, we want the discussions to be proactive and productive and not filled with insults, name calling, or attacks."

So on one hand you have a (new) user that hasn't done any of the above. And on the other hand you've a set of users that repeatedly have. Your own rules, codes, and policies make clear what should happen next....

The answer to your “I need 20 posts to send a PM” problem is to post more. Find other threads that you want to participate in. It’s a decent community here.

But your insistence on ~rules~ and ~decorum~ in this convo are off putting lol just relax

 

I find your responses to be perfectly emblematic of the concerns I've raised. I make a well thought out post, quoting the rules we're all meant to follow and raising concerns that others are not following them all while I'm being told my behaviour is suspect. And in response to my post (where I quote "...our aim is to raise the level of discourse away from ad hominem attacks and to a debate or discussion of the ideas themselves.") from the set of rules we're all meant to be following, you, a Moderator, engage in ad hominem:

But instead of thinking to yourself 'Gee. Perhaps I should be following the rules, especially as a Moderator.' you weigh in with telling a user that expecting people to follow the rules is "off putting" and to "just relax"

I have no doubt you won't like my response. And I'm certain nothing I say will change your opinion of how this should be resolved. But you seriously need to do some soul searching when a user asking that rules be followed is told they're in the wrong for asking.

Been meaning to ask - I can’t seem to ever post photos I save from bluesky. Any idea why?

 

looks like a bluesky bug. bluesky is saving jpeg files with a png extension even though it’s a jpeg file.

i created a shortcut that converts the png named file to a jpeg, and when i try to upload a picture downloaded from bluesky / converted using my apple shortcut, it uploads without any issue…

 

Chorus has been loading super slowly for me on mobile lately. Other websites don’t seem to be a problem. Wi-Fi/cellular doesn’t make a difference.

iPhone 15 Pro on 18.5, using Safari.

Any ideas?
