I stopped posting here about every announcement because I don't want to be annoying when nobody cares (need more people giving them a chance, I never ever thought I'd like kpop and yet here I am) haha I guess I will be getting up to watch this at 5am before work. I've never hated time zones so much.
Agree, I never expected to into kpop and yet here I very much am! The teaser for "Yet To Come" has got me emotional already!
They've been posting almost every morning at 8am, so checking their socials as soon as I wake up has been my daily routine now. Definitely didn't tear up watching this and seeing all the callbacks to previous videos, nope.
It's a video made for ARMY. Every outfit, prop, pose, the desert/sea, the fucking school bus... every shot is a reference to their history Run BTS and For Youth are soo good too. Sampling the crowd singing from this is just too much I'm so happy it looks like they got their tattoos, too!
I can't stop listening to Run BTS! It's a perfect blend of classic Bangtan with their current selves, including some of those sassy zingers they use to pepper into their earlier lyrics! Also, Yoooongiiiiiii.
My sister said she was driving the first time she listened and almost crashed when Yoongi's verse started
Wow, this is absolutely beautiful. I watched it at 5am this morning, and then again just now, and I know I'll watch it many times in the future. I don't think I'll be getting up at 5am again tomorrow for the FESTA dinner though, I know that is going to be a long video and I struggled this morning.
I was hoping to avoid this today, I had a rough morning and haven't even gotten to watch the video. I knew this had to happen soon, they've been showing that they're exhausted/interested in other projects and there's been no sign of the SK government relenting on their enlistment. I was just really counting on seeing them again before it happened.
I'm excited for what will be coming from each of the members, as I love their individual styles so much. But this was still a bit hard to hear. So hoping that this time away is what they need to refresh and rejuvenate and come back stronger when they are ready. They've been working so hard for so long, I'm so happy they have the chance to put themselves first for a bit.
I have calmed down a lot since yesterday. It was overwhelming to wake up and see everything without having the time to watch the full video and truly listen to what they were trying to say. I'm so grateful to the ARMY who translate everything in more detail and context (the video captions are so paraphrased/simplified it seems). I've been saying that they need space and more breaks since I first started digging into their content. Binge watching years of videos all at once has made it very obvious how much pressure they were put under so young. We don't think it's at all abnormal for artists to take a few years in between albums in western countries, I hope they can move into this type of cycle once they're ready. At this point I'm just upset at not getting to travel around and see them this summer, but I'll get over it knowing they are being given space to grow.
Love this performance of "Yet To Come" from MNET Countdown! Yoongi's intro! The vocals! It's just lovely.
That was sooner than I expected, they were just filming what people are guessing is the mv in NY a bit ago. Charlie is kinda annoying, but here for Jungkook all day every day.
These vibes fit this board more than I ever expected from j-hope! So curious what this is going to sound like!
He's been talking about showing a darker side for a while. Can't remember where I heard / read it, but I remember him saying he's been pushed to be "sunshine j-hope" for so long and it lead to him being really depressed when he was alone. So I'm excited for him to expand his sound / lyrics. People are not happy about the no physical album thing though. I don't mind not having a CD, but I'm also definitely not paying $25 shipping for a digital album and a photocard. The Weverse store is robbery. I'll buy a retail version if they offer those.
Yes! He talked about it a few times, and I'm so intrigued by this jester concept, and what he has to say about his role being kind of similar. His lyrics and sound can be almost deceptively positive, though, some of my favorite songs of his lean a bit darker and deeper, so I'm really excited to hear. The no physicals doesn't really bother me, in that this is the first time there will be anything physical at all for a solo project. I like PCs so I am ordering it, and then will stream on Spotify like I usually do. In a way, I'm glad they are cutting back on how much they are producing for these album packs, since a lot of the time people are buying multiples for specifics aspects of the package, but it would be nice if a CD option was also available (or vinyl!). I'm seeing it as paying for the PC/physical collectible of the album and not necessarily buying the music, so I am not too hung up on it.
This is a really good review of Proof, from someone who actually understands. https://thequietus.com/articles/31713-bts-proof-review
I did not expect rock Hobi They made his album available on the USA shop with reasonable shipping, so after hearing this, it was an instant purchase.
