woke up i'm in the in-between honey

Anyone up for chatting about BTS around here? I'm a relatively new fan but their entire discography has been in circulation for me for the past few months. Gotta admit, it caught me by surprise but I've been digging all of it.

Post favorite tracks here, or any other thoughts! I'll open up with my favorite track from their new album, Be, "Dis-ease".

I love how throwback this song is, and it's really a group effort too. All seven shine here, the rap verses are fantastic, the vocal line is on point! Also super cool that this is mostly a j-hope composition, with Jimin contributing that fantastic bridge. I've been playing this one a lot!

  2. Haven't got to the most recent releases yet, except for Dynamite which I find grating, but I gravitate towards their 2015-2018 material a lot. You Never Walk Alone in particular is a really solid album, and I'm fond of the dreamy soundscape that permeates some of it.

With you on You Never Walk Alone. "Spring Day" is the first song that I really resonated with, and basically paved the way for me realizing that the language barrier wasn't going to be an issue for me as far as connecting to their music. And the "Blood Sweat & Tears" music video had quite a hand in reeling me in too!

^^^ - Pretty sweet, especially since they didn't go the multiple versions route for Be and the only physical copy was a deluxe version at about $50 a pop.

Also cool! Pretty sure "Life Goes On" is going to debut at #1 on the Hot 100, which is awesome especially given it's much more their own creation compared to "Dynamite."

All seven members received their own digital covers and individual interviews as well. It's always really nice when they get a chance to be represented in an in-depth way, as I think a lot of people who have heard their name think of them as just another boyband and don't realize how long they've been around or how involved they are in their music. Suga and RM's interviews are especially great, particularly because they are the two members most involved in song-writing and have collaborated with a good number of artists outside of BTS. Their views on the industry, and their place in it, are always enlightening.

Digging this song so much and have a feeling it's gonna be everywhere this summer.

    Newbie

I’ve actually become obsessed with k-pop music not long ago. Once a friend of mine advised me to get acquainted with this genre here 韓流ウォッチ!! and from that time I am just crazy with such bands as bts, blackpink or big bang. There are many reasons to love this groups — their beautiful lyrics, their incredible dance moves, energetic atmosphere, etc. My favorite songs are “MIC Drop - Japanese Version” and “Blood Sweat & Tears”. And my favorite artist is G-Dragon (Despite leading Big Bang to worldwide success, he is always courteous and polite to everyone).

I don't know a lot about kpop, but my sister loves BTS, so we got tickets to the 3rd night of the SoFi Stadium shows and flew down there last week. It was wild. Everywhere we went in LA, there were people with BTS merch. We were in line for over two hours and barely got in in time to eat quickly and get to our seats, and the merch line was hours long, so we didn't buy anything. The show was amazing though, consider me sold.

Nice! I also went to Day 3 (and 4) and it was really like nothing I had ever experienced before. It was pretty bananas how there were BTS fans literally everywhere, we weren't even that close to the venue and half our sushi restaurant in Marina del Rey was ARMY. I think I read that the concerts pumped like a million dollars into the LA economy, which is... wow? But yeah, SoFi has some work to do regarding line efficiency, and the merch sold out SO fast that barely anything was left for the second half of the run, but the shows themselves were a total blast. No one does it quite like these guys.

And Chris Martin popped out for a surprise appearance to cap off Day 4 and end the run with "My Universe," which was super cool!

Drawn By BTS, 'ARMY' of Fans Inject Millions of Dollars Into LA Economy

My sister and I flew in early and went to Disneyland (where we saw thousands of ARMY), so I can see how this is true.

Will definitely go see them again if they play the PNW, probably wont go as far as LA though.

Ah right, a hundred million! Bananas! I was lucky to stay with a friend and avoid having to do the hotel/Uber thing but it did sound like most of the hotels around LAX were full of ARMY, and I am pretty sure I saw some double decker buses shuttling people into the stadium too.

We didn't even venture to Koreatown until after the shows were over, on Saturday, and it was still pretty crowded. Not wait 6 hours for Aghassi Gopchang crowded, but still!

They got their own individual Instagram accounts yesterday and they're nearly at 20M followers each already :explode:

Would love to have more solo stuff from them, especially after hearing Jungkook's cover of Falling.

Jungkook's cover of "Falling" was really beautiful! I was excited that he (and Jimin, V and jhope) were able to go see Harry while they were in LA before their own shows.

I feel like more solo stuff is on the way, but I also like that they have a chance to express themselves a little more individually, especially while they are on their break. RM is already making great use of his as he road trips and visits art museums in Texas!

    Love this performance of "Butter"!

These guys did such a great job navigating performances without people, but the energy just jumps once there's an audience!

My sister has been laughing at me because she warned me I'd get sucked in after this, and it's truuue. They're the only artist I've listened to in the car for the last week, oh no.

Ha, welcome! It's the same for the friend I brought to the concert with me. She really didn't know them at all prior but has been listening to them all week and is following them all on Instagram. Her bias is j-hope!

Really enjoyed these individual interviews/shoots (the GQ one is a bit difficult to read though because I had to rely on Google Translate). Videos from the shoots coming this week and next week.

GQ has full English translations now that the interviews have been officially been released on GQ Australia! Links to all the other interviews are at the bottom of each: RM: "I want to free myself in order to exist as the Real Me."

The GQ and Vogue photos (there's SO many) and double interviews are really a fantastic feature, especially as someone who loves seeing the members represented in such an in depth way. Part of what makes BTS special is how their individual talents and personalities and outlooks come together, so it's always great to see that explored.

Reread it just now and it was so much easier to understand with proper translation, thanks!

The more I read/watch their content, the more I like and want to see more from Taehyung and Jungkook.
