He might be one of the most dependable pop artists of the past 20 years? His production work as part of The Smeezingtons was huge, each album and Silk Sonic produced multiple huge hits. You can never bet against him, unless maybe it’s “Fat, Juicy and Wet.”
Yeah, as far as male pop stars I feel like he must have the biggest hit rate of the past decade or so. I really think him releasing so infrequently and waiting til he has something quality to drop like @irthesteve mentioned is a key part of that, he seems like a huge perfectionist which I love seeing.
Yeah, he’s really an anomaly in the quantity over quality world of the streaming era (for mainstream artists anyway)… really hope that continues this era, it’s difficult for me to imagine him doing a bunch of deluxe versions and whatnot so I think so.
He’s just so talented, vocally, as a performer, with multiple instruments. Take as much time as you want.
I would bet that he probably has the best song to hit ratio of anyone ever, highest percent of his songs being #1 or Top 10
