Strongly disagree with that being a weak setlist. It's a setlist with a story and a thematic through-line, which is Bruce at his best.
the 76 year old rock star kicked fuckin ass tonight i need so much less tom morello though. I genuinely dont understand the decision.
Respectfully disagree; he played perhaps the greatest song of all time, Backstreets, during the 2023 tour
yeah i mean to each their own of course but, and maybe this had something to do with the theme of this tour and the show being deep in red long island, but crowd energy was noticeably absent near the middle of this set. picked up near the end around the rising (folks love 9/11) and stayed but, i just cannot imagine preferring this set. had a great time but it just didnt feel like a real bruce show without hearing rosalita or thunder road, or one of the big long songs.
no go see bruce, hes still the best live show you can see and if youve never seen him before you have no base of comparison lol
We all love Backstreets and also She's the One. But the 2023 setlist is not better because of one song. The 2 shows I saw had a bad stretch of 5-6 songs in a row in the first half including 2 of the soul covers and some IMO lesser early pre-BTR material. This tour has none of that and it's just banger after banger for the most part.
To each their own! I'm glad him and the band can create setlists that satisfy a variety of desires, the Wild and Innocent is one of my favorite albums of all time so getting to see the E Street Shuffle, Kitty's Back, and Rosalita was an absolute treat for me.
I’d give my left uhhh…. to see this purportedly mediocre setlist but he’s not coming anywhere near me
And I’m not arguing with Sean or anyone else who thinks the setlist feels off to be clear! Dude could do a play through of human touch and working on a dream at this point and I’d still want to go. There’s not gonna be many tours like this left
