SUCCESS. We’re in the second level but in the second row of our section and have a straight-on view of stage/screens, so like directly across. 192 ea after fees
@phaynes12 is whipping votes in the Smashing Pumpkins thread, so I felt the need to do the same here. Go vote for the GOAT. Round of 64: (28) Smashing Pumpkins - Siamese Dream vs. (37) Bruce Springsteen - Born2Run • forum.chorus.fm
only vote if you've heard both! i put that in my post in the smashing pumpkins thread, shameless of craig!!!
it was just a tease, it's a ubiquitous album. i love both albums. just seems sometimes that americana-preferring people can be more prejudiced against "noisy" rock than the other way around
Having wandered very deep down the country/Americana rabbit hole for 5-6 years, I can definitely confirm that this is true. Been finding my way back lately.
Ah, Tunnel is the one I wasn’t thinking of. Agreed on Darkness. And I’m lower on Nebraska than most (it’s excellent, I just feel in the grand scheme of music history the mythology bumps its standing up just a tad.)
I’m only comfortable saying Darkness is for sure better than Born to Run but there’s about half a dozen Bruce records I’d rather listen to these days.
Darkness is a strong, strong second place for me, but there are at least three songs on it I like less than anything on BTR, and probably four on BTR I’d rank higher than my top Darkness song. There are still days I reach for Darkness first — more lately, in this garbage dump we call a world — but Born to Run remains the most perfect album I’ve ever heard.
Apparently I’m in the minority here but I do not understand the love for Darkness or Tunnel at all The Wild, The Innocent, on the other hand
It's been years since I listened but I remember being very let down by Darkness after loving Born to Run. The Wild, The Innocent was much more my vibe as a follow up.
I’ve come to realize Wild is my favorite Bruce album if I’m being honest. But BtR is only the tiniest hair behind and they both stand pretty clearly above the rest for me
Pretty much agree with all of this. Both Darkness and The River, there are B-Sides that are far superior to the lesser tunes. BTR is pretty perfect.
Wild innocent is incredible but I almost always skip wild Billy and as good as NY is I tend to tap out after rosalita
I think it's born in the usa era. The version of that that opens live in nyc is about as fucking good as it gets tho
