apparently tonight in NYC theres a huge blackout, and we have a friend who is in manhattan tonight and she said a transformer blew on 57th street So i said to my wife Sounds like there was an incident On 57th street she didnt get it.
There's been so much reporting on it that it's hard to catch all the details, but word is down the cops have found the vein. When asked for comment, the barefoot boys said "Homes ain't no good".
When the trains stopped I bet it was too hot in those tunnels, you could get hit up by the heat. It's so hard to be a saint........
Blinded By The Light is an absolutely incredible film. Not just a simple music movie, but a terrific coming of age story. There’s going to be a Western Stars movie in theaters some time in October.
Anyone check this trailer out yet? Looks great. Love Western Stars. Love the Boss talking about life. How lucky are we to be alive at the same time as Bruce Springsteen?
Happy 70th Bruce! Starting today, I'm going through his discography and reading the new Brian Hiatt book.
I had a lot of fun doing that earlier this year. It was especially cool to revisit some of the outtakes and Tracks stuff that I hadn't spent a lot of time with since my early days of Springsteen fandom.
There's some pretty special stuff on there. I mostly think he's a good editor of his own material, and I get why the majority of those songs didn't make their respective records, which I think might be an unpopular opinion. But there are definitely a few all-timers.
Iceman will forever be one of my favorites from the set. Top ten all time, maybe top 5 depending on the day.
It makes more sense if you read Hiatt’s book, honestly. They could never settle on the right version or the right take. I do wish the version from the box set was on there, but I don’t know where on the record you put it. I guess that’s the hardest part, since Darkness is already so well put together.
"Be True" and "Take 'Em As They Come" and "Santa Anna" and "Linda Let Me Be the One" probably all make a top 20 Bruce for me.
“Take ‘Em As They Come” is my favorite from Tracks, though I honestly like the Jimmy Eat World version a little more.
