Hammersmith 1975 is the best live album I have ever heard by any band

I will never not be mad that they cut the tour closing version of “Blood Brothers” from Live in NYC.

  3. Yeah that is a loss for sure

  4. Look Hammersmith Odeon rules and I'm not gonna argue with that but it doesn't have the six-minute-intro version of Prove It All Night so I don't see how it could be better than the '78 video haha, isn't scientifically possible *shrug*

make sure to check out the classic east berlin show in 88 -

37:45 for the most goosebump-inducing version of BITUSA

I'd also recommend checking out the Christic solo shows from 1990. Video is iffy but there is a full audio release. Probably Bruce's greatest ever vocal performance.

Houston 78. Passaic 78. Odeon 75. All top shelf.

Prove it all night live in 78 at Passaic is like my all time favorite song lol. I've actually told my wife in a half joking manner that if I ever end up in a coma to throw on this song and if I don't wake up, its over lol.

  8. Yeah the Passaic show is awesome too, wish there was better video than what we have

the capitol theater saw some absolutely legendary performances from a lot of artists over the years

That version of "Lost in the Flood" really opened the doors for me.

Edit: I've also always loved that Nils gets so possessed by that solo that he runs too long and is playing in the wrong key for the start of the next song for a second.

The Odeon show is the absolute gold standard for live gigs. That piano version of "For You" just leaves this earthly plane entirely.

  11. Finally watched the film today to temporarily distract myself from the events of the world. Enjoyed it immensely.

Spinning this on the turntable as I make dinner and drink a (strong) beer. All comforting distractions.

Wish they played “Janey” but the end of “Letter To You” was a barnstormer!

Given that SNL performances never have great sound, those were pretty great.

Stevie looks like he washed up in the harbor though. Hope he's doing okay.

  20. Yeah I've heard farrrr worse SNL performances

Stevie looks like if someone even said the word covid around him he'd keel over, I know SNL's protocols are strict but it made me so nervous when he shared a mic with Bruce

Yeah legit first thing out of my mouth was "I hope they got tested 2-3 times."

Honestly hearing Bruce a hair flat through the entirety of "Ghosts" really made me appreciate how deep he dug for those incredible vocals on the recording. It's clearly not a wheelhouse area for him anymore so he really committed.

My father passed away last week - He was a massive Springsteen fan and passed the love onto me - Unfortunately he never got to hear 'Letter To You' (I'd actually bought it for him for Christmas)

"I'll See You In My Dreams" has helped me so much this week
