high point in the first episode was Boyle being performative. I also like that they took the time with the other captain to show how fundamentally broken policing is with regards to accountability, even if the premise of the episode was tonally weird

Second episode was very good. Love the bird stuff

 

Jake walking in on Holt tucked completely into his bed got me good

 

haven't watched the 2nd one yet, but yeah having an ACAB episode was... something

 

I enjoyed both episodes a lot

 

I get and appreciate what they tried to do with the first episode but it definitely felt forced and performative.

 

They can’t not address it but at the end of the day it’s a comedy show that has jokes. Real world issues were never made the butt of jokes and that’s great and how it should be.

 

Agreed the first episode felt pretty heavy handed, though I think most of their attempts at covering something serious tend to wade into “after school special” territory. Still good some jokes

Loved both episodes but I agree that the second was the overall strongest.

I am going to be forever intrigued what those episodes were like that they scrapped last year and if they will ever see the light of day.

Just got around to last weeks episodes. #1 was a dud. #2 was magnificent

same as last week for me, first episode sucked but the second was great. I was laughing the whole way through

guess there's a reason they're releasing these in twos lmao

 

I thought the first one was great, but my fiance didn't love it

I like that they're covering real, current events tbh and I still think they're doing a good job at balancing the humor

 

the first ep did better than last week's, it makes more sense that they'd hate how the pba and dorky cops make them all look like buffoons
the Jeffords plotline was weird though

 

it still feels very hamfisted to me, but moreso this week I just didn't really find it funny at all. think the only real laugh I had was Holt's "again the speech did nothing for me, I'm just picking out isolated words"

 

Loved both deliveries of "this is a very frustrating conversation"

"We don't have time for your nerd fetish"

This diaper interrogation is so dumb but so funny lol

 

The first new episode felt like a much better version of what they tried to do in the premiere, and the second one was easily my favorite of the season so far, I lol'd multiple times. Storyline was great too

I’m watching Blue Flu now, was this episode filmed during an earthquake? I never noticed the camera constantly shaking like this it’s really annoying
