Gutted it’s only 10 eps. I always feel most short final seasons are always too busy too fast. Hopefully it’s a good send off.
Nine seasons for the Nine Nine would've been nice, but at least they still get a season to go out the right way and can't be mad about getting eight seasons. Plus this frees Schur up to work on something that isn't copproganda!
This show really ruled thought. Shame it ended, but man what a fantastic run it’s had. Hope it ends on a high.
For nearly every character on the show, being a cop and believing in the work they’re doing is a core part of their identity. For them to quit out of some huge last minute ideological change of heart would be so forced and unnatural.
Yeah, as much as I love this show, I can never be too upset at a show getting to 8 seasons and getting to end on its own terms. Little bummed it's only 10 episodes but it's not that big a deal
Usually because it seems unplanned and it's like "well we were gonna cancel you but you've been on for so long heres a couple episodes, good luck". We were already nearing the end of this show so I feel like 10 is gonna be fine.
This quote made me laugh: “I’m so thankful to NBC and Universal Television for allowing us to give these characters and our fans the ending they deserve,” Goor said in conjunction with B99‘s end-date announcement. “When Mike Schur and I first pitched the pilot episode to Andy [Samberg], he said, ‘I’m in, but I think the only way to tell this story is over exactly 153 episodes,’ which was crazy because that was exactly the number Mike and I had envisioned.”
Just started watching this with my fiancé and after the first few episodes, I’ve come to really enjoy it. About halfway through Season 2 and the characters are really fun even if the plots week to week aren’t always engaging (I think the last 4 episodes have been needing big breakthroughs on the Giggle-Pig task force and ending with a big breakthrough only to need a new one next time).
