Fantastic premiere, particularly the second episode. New dynamic with Holt is great, and Vanessa will be an awesome addition. Fully expected them to reveal another new captain at the end of the episode, I wonder if the position will just be vacant for a bit.


I was kind of bummed that they're doing a Jake/Amy pregnancy but it was pretty inevitable once they started setting it up last year and especially when Melissa got pregnant in real life, which I assume is the reason they're not "waiting a year" anymore. I trust Schur/Goor with this traditionally show-ruining twist, both The Office and Parks handled it well

 

the second episode is killing me. I love cool Charles so much

 

Ngl, I was hoping for some backlash from Rosa at the end for giving her jacket away to a stranger lol

 

Second episode was great.

 

the Hall and Oates bit was both probably too long and I could have heard Boyle do it for 3 hours

and lol at Boyle watching The Sisterhood Of The Traveling Pants and almost getting to play poker with the star of Bunheads

Funniest part of the ep. The casual way he says "bitch," not emphasizing it at all, as if it's something he's just always called Jake

 

I went through the entire New Girl series last year, and found it the best comedy I've ever seen. I've just started season 4 of B99, and while hilarious, I find New Girl to be the overall funnier show. It kind of seems like B99 tries to setup the joke so it becomes obvious, whereas New Girl tries to make the joke part of the normal conversation, which makes it all the more funnier.
