Amy attempting trash talk was great " you're a train" And of course Gina discovering Hamilton and wearing an amazing dress while doing so
What episode did Boyle adopt the kid? I have no memory of that happening, they basically just started talking about it out of nowhere in my eyes
He was talking about it around the end of last season. Presumably he adopted him while Jake and Holt were in Florida.
The A.V. Club Show's been getting some kind of puzzling reviews over at The A.V. Club recently. Of the last four episodes, the grades have been: "Mr. Santiago" - C+ "Skyfire Cycle" - A "The Overmining" - C "Captain Latvia" - C Don't really get why. I think this season has been incredibly strong thus far.
I dunno. I haven't been feeling it much myself lately. Looking at those four episodes, besides the Christmas one, they've been telling A, B, and C stories all within one episode. I think they've been spreading themselves too thin lately and it results in forgettable stories.
I wonder what they found so great about Skyfire Cycle to give it such a higher grade than the rest. All of the recent episodes have been of comparable quality imo.
Yeah that has me confused too. I think the last story they've told that I've actually really liked/laughed during was Holt/Pimento betting on the dog on Thanksgiving
I think I just enjoy this show significantly more when I'm binge watching it. I always really enjoy it when I'm doing rewatches but as the seasons are airing and I have to wait weekly I'm not that into it (besides the awesome Florida arc this season)
This show would be significantly better without Andy Samberg as the lead tbh. His jokes tend to be the laziest
It's not Andy's fault, they just decide to use the exact same joke for his character most of the time (him saying something, realizing it's wrong or inappropriate, then him doing that voice and saying "or not" or something similar)
I think it's like with New Girl where the ensemble is so strong, I think both Jake and Jess have grown as characters even if they're not the most exciting and again there are so many storylines they're not even part of
I like Jake enough. He doesn't really have great jokes on his own though, I find him funniest in his interactions with Holt or Gina.
Hitchcock and Scully are utilized just right in their limited screen time. But I liked how Scully was the voice of reason regarding the Christmas spirit in last week's ep
Jake's constant under-the-breath jokes has not worn thin for me yet. Samberg nails that delivery every time.
Yeah, that's a good way of putting it. The jokes themselves aren't incredible, but his delivery and physical performance kills me. Holt is still the funniest, by far. Boyle is incredible as well. Still not a fan of Rosa.
