IM HERE now! BSS are a top 5 band of all time for me. Loved the first single, haven't heard the 2nd yet
Yea really like the new one. It's definitely more "weird" BSS than the standard (but still very good!) "Halfway Home"
Yep, first track was a good return, kind of BSS-by-the-numbers track but this is really fucking good (and reminds me that I need to listen to the new Feist record a whole hell of a lot more than I have).
I think it was a weeknight to be fair, I do love them - I just also appreciate brevity haha. Hope you had an amazing time!
Quick thoughts on their performance: - they played 2 new songs yet to be released . Both were really good , but the lyrics to Protest Song left a lot to be desired - Emily Haines basically fronted the band for half the show and it amazing. Getting to see Anthems and Swimmers with her on lead was perfect
There is a studio version of stay happy. Didn't know it was out. Found it in that P4K interview from today This record is shaping up really nicely. Fanfare seems oddly low on this site. Everything has been excellent so far.
I never felt BSS was ever popular enough even though they may be one of the best bands making music--period.
I mean they definitely used to be for sure. They were a huge draw when I saw them at Lollapalooza in 2006. Maybe this site has gotten too young for me?
Maybe in 2006. Barely feels like it was over a decade ago, ha. Other than the singles, I haven't seen this being promoted much. I'm willing to bet a lot of OG fans don't even realize they're reunited.
Best part about living in Toronto is BSS will always be relevant. They just headlined a festival playing to thousands of people, home town heroes. As far as im concerned, every person on this site who listens to The World is... should have to listen through the entire BSS discography at least once.
