in deleted tweets, Kevin said that Shawn Mendes was supposed to sing the hook for Tonya at Fallon, and that Shawn is a good friend
Imagine if we get Team Effort, Puppy and The Best Years Of Our Lives together as the new trilogy. I just really hope the songs previewed aren't scrapped as they were all amazing.
Unfortunately I don't think we'll ever get Team Effort now, and it's possible that Best Years is Puppy but renamed, I don't think they've said yet
Yeah Puppy being Best Years (with revisions and added songs) is my guess. Not sure why everyone is so sure it's scrapped. I can't see them or the label doing that and then taking months to release something else.
Yeah that's true. Could easily be all new stuff. It's just a bit frustrating after the hearing the clips being the level of quality that they are. Like I was really hoping that song with Jesse Rutherford that's been on Soundcloud for a while made it onto the album too. I don't understand when bands sit on some their best material. There's a song The Fever have been playing for ages about Jason becoming a dad that's amazing as another example and it's the same deal. So many bands do it.
I think, especially in this case, it just comes down to the artist and the audience having different perceptions of the work. Brockhampton may not want to release more music that is rooted in or a reminder of their time with Ameer, and they may also think the songs they're recording now are simply better than those previewed for Team Effort or Puppy. I can't claim to know why, exactly, but I want them to be happy with the album and trust that whatever they decide to release will meet their own standards.
Totally agree and it's 100% the right of the artist to do what they feel is right with material. It's just frustrating to hear stuff previewed that's better than 90% of everything else out there only for it not to be released haha
Yeah Ready for War sounded fucking amazing, I hope that song still exists in some form (even though Ameer was literally in the snippet)
I really hope so too. The song with the 'every song we wrote was a hit' sample at the beginning is incredible as well, I just hope we still get some of these songs. And that's not even mentioning Let's Get Married!
"Things We Lost In The Fire" reallllyyyy sounds like a way to describe songs recorded with Ameer. I don't expect them to release full songs with him, but maybe they'll share the songs without his verses?
Yeah it seems to me that these are songs from Puppy and Team Effort, which I'm all for because some of the snippets sounded amazing. No way they keep his verses though
