Right now I'm just wondering if they'll say something, if they'll cancel any shows, if Ameer will stay in the group/perform/still be on the new album, if a new album will still come in June, etc. They have so much going on right now that it's hard for me to imagine them getting away without addressing this in some capacity, especially considering how in-touch their fanbase is with these kinds of issues
Kevin went on IG live to discuss the issue, he seemed like he was depressed and very upset, said he regrets not saying anything earlier and them deleting their accounts at the time was bad timing cus it was supposed to be apart of the rollout. He said they’ve talked to Ameer about it all, every single accusation, he’s been getting help over the past year, etc. etc. Puppy is being pushed back he said as well.
well I have a major problem with someone who continually shows abusive behavior bring put in an environment where power boundaries might allow him to do it again fuck that
Who would have thought a group founded on KTT full of men would be hypocritical assholes who stick up for their friends over their fans
If the band has had conversations with Ameer and he has been getting counselling and they are doing work to make sure that he's accountable, he should be able to stay in the band. Friends shouldn't just throw friends under the bus but instead part of the process that helps them grow and be better. Sending him back home to Texas won't help him rehabilitate. All of the teenagers on Twitter bombing Kevin with "kick out Ameer" tweets have no way of understanding how that could be a bad move. Touring is a sticky situation though. It's decidedly too soon from this situation for him to be back up on stage. It's very uncomfortable. Though, if rappers who assault and rob people can tour again eventually, he probably will too if he takes time off to get himself right.
I had the impression that this behavior stopped at least a year ago but I could be wrong. I honestly don’t know what I would do if I were in their situation so I can’t really fault them for keeping Ameer around. Doesn’t mean I think that’s the best choice either though.
"i didnt see it , so it couldnt of happened" cause yeah people only do shit while their roommates are in the room with them <roll my fucking eyes> dude needs to shut up EDIT: also ameer admitted to being abusive. every other member has acknowledged it happened, what are you talking about with this shit
Probably for the best although the circumstances are rough of course. Seeing Joba tear up in that BLEACH live footage was the hardest shit to watch, they could all use a break
ooooof those responses are rough, their fans are not happy. blaming “twitter stans” for everything, calling the band irrelevant now...
in a week we have had lil ugly mane/wiki kick out their best friend for his abuse of women and brockhampton do the same to Ameer. hopefully this jump starts more of rap dealing with it's issues.
none of those situations were really major label rappers (i know brockhampton was just signed but they have a very different mentality at least). still feels like more of the "underground" rap scene
Yeah I’m actually shocked. I really thought they were going to keep him in the band and I had written them off already. Really proud of them for doing the right thing when it must be incredibly difficult. Our local show sold out before I could get a ticket but maybe a rescheduled date will be possible.
