The transition from New Orleans to Thug Life is brilliant. Sometimes I just want to listen to New Orleans but the transition is so smooth I end up listening to the whole thing.

 

And I'm the opposite haha. Thug life might be my favorite on here

 

This album made a really, really strong first impression on me but I honestly haven't had much of an urge to go back to a lot of it. I think SAT II and III might still be better for me

 

Saturation 1 > 3 > 2 though

3 and 2 are miles better than 1

 

SUMMER and GUMMY are like top ten tracks in the group’s discography.

 

I like Saturation 3 and 1 about the same and both more than 2.

I still havent finished listening to this. Got about half way through and liked about half of that.

 

This is still by far my favorite from them. I've pretty much listened to it at least once each day. So many moments get me hype. I love when Merlyn comes in on New Orleans. "VOODOO MAN".

 

1 has a charming roughness to it and is the most nostalgic for me, because I listened to it like dozens of times a day every week after I first found it. having said that it's pretty inconsistent and there's some stuff like FAKE that just gets grating

2 is the best of that first trilogy, the beats stepped up tremendously and we really saw what Joba, Matt and Kevin could do rapping for the first time. it's also the most consistent for sure although there's a big drop-off in the last couple tracks and they were insane not to include LAMB and MARCH

3 is kind of in-between for me, the beats are spectacular and mostly the rapping is good but there are a few surprisingly awful tracks and only SISTER/NATION feels like every member firing on all cylinders together. I still like stuff like HOTTIE and JOHNNY a fair bit but I don't revisit that much

iridescence is their best overall, the beats are incredible, every member brings the heat and their sound has evolved to such an interesting mix that keeps you guessing. there's also not a single bad song

 

Iridescence > 3 > 2 > 1 but the gap between 3 and 2 especially is very slim
