if it was a unique riff at all I could see it but it’s so generic the concept of a coincidence is completely lost on these people
A little bit ago there were some accusations thrown around that they ripped off moodring on a different song (cannot remember exactly what but it was definitely during this album, it might have been kool-aid). I absolutely see where the comparisons come from and in full transparency I think I like the moodring song a bit more. That in mind, that little section of euphoria right before the breakdown in limousine is easily one of the best moments on the album. Really bummed its so short.
LoST already kinda blindsided me with the godlike MCRness of it but Top 10 Statues is next level. Totally nailed the whole uplifting emo vibe. That track is transcendant.
So lock all the doors 'Cause I'm insecure Let's get out of here If you mean this section, I couldn’t agree more. The root chord resolution at 3:18 and wall of sound washes over you like a tidal wave. Truly wish it continued, but part of me thinks it hits so hard because it’s a brief moment of sunshine before you’re pulled back into the depths.
bullet with my name might make me start wearing girl jeans again lol. what in the 2004 is going on here.
Top 10 Statues That Cried Blood and Bullet With My Name On are the most From First To Last (with Sonny) sounding songs I've ever heard
How to tell everyone you don’t know the genre without directly telling them you don’t know the genre.
I know it’s been out for awhile, but man I still love the breakdown to Amen so fucking much. It’s so fun. Strangers is the one that does nothing for me really, and RIP is cool, but might be actually overloaded even on an album where the point is to be overloaded.
I truly wonder if RIP is a remix. I would love to hear it as it was written, even though I like it a bunch as it is.
Extremely hot take, but Lost might be my favorite BMTH song which is hilarious considering the music they used to write.
The album ends on a bit of a wet fart tbh, why tease with a 7 minute song, have a minute and thirty seconds of that 7 minutes be silence, and then end with album concept messaging. There's probably 3 or 4 songs I could do without on here but that still leaves a solid 12-13 songs which is still an album's worth
I really really like this weird album, minus Strangers. That track is still an insta-skip for me. Not sure why but that track feels so weak compared to the rest of the singles. I don’t mind the [ost] tracks or the all-over-the-place nature of this record. There seems the be a few Easter eggs in the tracks (ie the reversed dialogue at the end of “a bullet”) and there’s definitely a loose concept album here, which I’m a sucker for. Definitely a record that has something new to pickup with repeated listens.
i checked out some of the tracks and i feel like oli references his own lyrics a lot which is cool. i particularly liked the one about no one wants flowers when they're dead.
Limousine feels like the new Nihilist Blues, them doing a song with another vocalist doing a genre that's not their typical wheelhouse but somehow crushing it. One of my favs on the album
i finally checked it out this morning. 16 tracks, 3 interludes, 13 actual songs, 6 or 7 were already released. It's pretty good, doesn't blow my mind, i guess they were making up with more tracks since survival horror was only 9 tracks? but out of the new songs i really liked 4 or 5 of them on the first listen, will be coming back for more!
