Just going off by what the band said in lockdown interviews, PH3 was supposed to be electronic and pop centric and PH4 would revisit their deathcore roots. Of course, plans may have changed since 2020, as we've seen with Jordan's departure and the multiple delays (lol) for PH2.
Oh, I see, you're not skipping to PH4, you're just saying that would be the release this would most tie in with. I honestly would be okay with them letting go of the PH concept and just releasing music in whatever form they want.
The video might be the goriest thing I’ve seen in years. And it really makes me think about cutting meat out of my diet. I don’t eat anything factory farmed when home (on the road is harder but I try), but man, killing an animal is killing an animal either way. I’m sure it’s not the stated intention, but it’s hard to see anything else in the lyrics.
Oli quotes the Texas Chainsaw Massacre’s tagline and that film is partially a critique of how capitalism fuels the consumption of animals and the social effects of it The song is undoubtedly pro-vegan
Song is good. Also doesn't seem totally plagued with predictable overblown cliches like most of modern deathcore that only has heavy parts in hopes a reaction video to it goes viral.
What I like most about the song is that it doesn’t sound like 2006 at all. It’s heavy, but that’s it. The breakdowns are very modern and there are some nu-metal groves. The crawls are probably the biggest throwback to ‘06, but as a whole it’s very distinct with influence coming from many directions.
it’s not bad. i think people are going a little far with the whole “deathcore is back no one is making music like this” or “what other band is putting out their heaviest song 20 years in” when whitechapel and acacia strain both dropped their heaviest albums last year but. it’s good
yeah, there's some insane and insanely good deathcore out there. my only comment was it was cool to see BMTH come back to this sound fully after 20 years and still do it well.
Really hope they're still kickin it enough in 2030 to pull out the stops in some form for There Is a Hell too
Don't remember the last time I put the debut on but there's also a lot of Suicide Season and There Is a Hell in the song. The chorus sounds straight out of the latter to my ears. Good thing otherwise I wouldn't like it as I'm not big on deathcore outside of a few bands (like the ones mentioned above)
Song is... fine? It's cool to see Oli scream like this, but this read as a lot more generic deathcore than it did others in this thread. Video is sick though.
