SAME take here... I am pretty much a Sempiternal to current guy, I've only recently started to dabble with TIAH and Suicide Season ... but for a band that has become one of my Top 5 faves, easily, I am excited that this sounds actually listenable. The original I just could barely ever make it through a whole track, and I guess that had more to do with the recording than I ever actually noticed.
Dehumanized is track 11 on the remake of count your blessings. So is it new or something they had back when they made the album originally that they are finally releasing and made a video for?
Reminds me of some early Miss May I in the guitar tones and mixing. Pretty good heavy tune. To be honest, it's a little boring to me though and I can absolutely see why they want to continually mix sounds / production styles and ideas to keep things fresh. I can't imagine if they had just kept to this sound for a decade +. But this rerecord and writing a new song that would fit on it is a cool idea.
Was not expecting much, so this absolutely blew me away. I can't wait for me (TIAH BMTH) to show my wife (TTS BMTH) the new BMTH song that came out today to see her reaction.
Holy fucking shit, they really did it. I am very much a “Sempiternal onward” fan and this song absolutely RULES.
Would like it better with a less ear fatiguing, blown out mix but it's cool that after all the success they've had crossing the mainstream with softer and poppier sounds, they can switch to something this punishingly heavy. Guess that's kinda a teaser for PH4 too right? I do hope that when they eventually make that mythical album, it won't only contain straightforward mosh-y stuff but also see them use it as a base to experiment, like they've been doing for the past decade.
Yeah I like the idea of this leading into PH4. I love the experimentation they did on the third one mixing HEAVY with pop and some metalcore/post hardcore. Just goes to show they still have so much left in that creativity tank.
