Mantra is definitely the better single of the two released so far but I agree they have a lot to live up to with the next single. Still wondering what happened to the Post Malone song tbh!
This 30-second teaser already sounds better than the first two singles, by A LOT. I have a feeling when this drops tomorrow, I’ll be thinking that it should’ve been the lead single, but the label/band wanted to play it safe and thought this would be too “pop” to be released first.
Is this gonna be the same as TTS, where there will be 50% incredible songs and 50% meh or mediocre songs?
Sounds promising but there is nothing here to get too hyped over IMO. Still cautiously excited for Amo since I love Mantra and I totally forgot that this comes out on the 25th. The band is probably gonna kick marketing/promo into high gear starting with a music video tomorrow.
It actually sounds like a progression of TTS which is what the first two singles should have sounded like.
Yeah these guys can write great songs but my lord I wish they dropped the “dad metal” aspect. Guess this is just what the band is now oh well
To be fair, they're bigger than they've ever been... clearly it's working. I think we're not the target audience for some of their songs lol
"Medicine" is out there. VERY pop, but that's exactly what I was hoping for. Super catchy track, I dig it.
This is WAY more pop than even I thought it would be. And it totally works. They made a Top 40 song, and absolutely crushed it... wild.
I like the song, but it seems to be about his ex wife and after the stories about him being abusive towards her, it kind of leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
I did think it was about a toxic relationship, but I don't hear the specific part you're talking about at all. I think the lyrics are pretty generalized and we'll infer onto them whatever we want... but I definitely don't hear any specific references to this imo.
It's alright. Lyrically, it's cringe just like most of TTS for me, and musically it's just alright. I still think MANTRA is the best single yet from this.
Visions and Shadow Moses say otherwise EDIT: I thought you meant singles-wise. There are plenty of solid songs lyrically on There Is A Hell..
I think this is a great pop rock track, reminds me of a lot of good mainstream bands. It’s easily my favorite of the three singles personally, I’m glad they stepped more outside the box.
