as someone whos favorite album of theirs is digital ash, who prefers built to spill to bright eyes, and who paid and attended that show, i am bummed beyond what words can express lmao. silver living was road to joy though, really cathartic
I made a trip of it and as disappointing as it was, wide awake set was so good I couldn’t be too upset the rest was cancelled. plus, getting to see @arewehavingfunyet in person made it all worth it love you buddy
that and having to work at 4:30 am right after lmao definitely have had days i enjoy more it was cool seeing basically like every type of music fan at that show though saw every kind of band and artist tee imaginable it ruled
I need the clown makeup application meme, but for me constantly checking the Forest Hills/Bright Eyes Instagram accounts for any sort of acknowledgment about the back 2/3 of the show being canceled
Glad this is how they’re handling it, even if it really sucks that it seems the band’s the one left holding the bag for something the venue probably should’ve handled better. I saw at least one person in the Instagram comments saying they were going to donate to Poison Oak Project with their refund, so I hope others do the same.
Super bummed for the band and bummed to have missed built to spill, all of digital ash, and let’s not shit ourselves, but a full refund after still getting to see wide awake (which was perfect) is a crazy welcome outcome. Had a great nyc weekend too
Damn. i decided last second to go to the hollywood bowl show. that night i was so happy i made that decision and even moreso now.
i hope whatever they figure out next includes built to spill if anything but i honestly expected nothing so i do appreciate a refund
I'm giving the Companion EPs a spin for the first time in ages and goddamn man that last verse of Napoleon's Hat, some of Conor's best writing ever
Soon You’ll Be Leaving Your Man, Blue Angels Air Show, and acoustic Gold Mine Gutted are the big ones for me but im definitely missing some. Incredible stuff indeed
oh yeah the Digital Ash one is great overall but that Gold Mine Gutted is astonishing You Will is an underrated one, Jon Theodore goes sicko mode with the drums at the end
