There was another rip off put there around the same time. Can’t think of artist name but I can see the album cover clearly in my head. It was a red bird against a blue background that was sketch-painted.

that Street to Nowhere album actually is really good, definitely not as much of a ripoff as An Angle. They were definitely "same vibes but distictly different"

 

Me too, same thoughts while getting into Friko, it reminded me of that artist exactly (that I actually had revisited like two years ago after not being too into it in te 00s, but having enjoyed Forgive Durden's Razia's Shadow so much I eventually gave in to checking that guy out more thoroughly)

But yeah, An Angle was def so much more similar. I for one liked that 2005 album those short years ago now - absolutely didn't realize they had some livejournal attacks by BE fans telling people to condemn Drive Thru and never buy anything from them, also to destroy An Angle CDs in stores hahah, to me that is just comical

I went back to the debut now to put it somewhat in the background at work, and shit, this is really a mirror image of BE hahh. I need to maybe rethink that a bit, as this is the second time a similar conversation arose over here this week. But still, after ripping them off quite obviously so, the next chapter started showing some branching out for at least a tad bit more distinct songwriting

Setlist last night was insane - I'm going next week and was really hoping for True Blue and they closed with it last night!

 

We got Denver Dalley & some Desa last night!

 

Wow, I saw this band in like 05 opening for the format in Burlington. Still have this cd somewhere.

 

Just looked at the setlist, unreal

 

holy fuck he closed with lets not shit ourselves?! my soul would have left my body.

 

Also did “Messenger Bird’s Song” which was unbelievable, so glad I got tickets for the last night of the shows

Haven't listened to that album in a long, long time, but I've always loved it. Very excited to hear some unearthed stuff from them in that era.

looks like you have to agree to sign an NDA when you participate (which probably isnt uncommon in these situations) but it certainly could be new music.

that would be fun.

 

They had been recording so I’m not surprised by new music.
