They obviously distanced themselves from each other after being "roommates" in LA around 2020/Covid but yeah, neither of them ever said anything publicly about it as far as I know.

I thought the assumptions were based of the interpretation that Moon Song was written about Conor? Shrug. Cool to see them back on stage together

Mike Mogis on bass & James Felice was in the band too. Not my favorite setlist so far, but they sounded really good.

I would've been into so much of that setlist (could do without "Napalm" at the end)

Wow I would have been disappointed by that set after seeing the others.

Has anyone ever heard of the band An Angle? They are from years ago (the 2000s) on Drive Thru and sound so much like Bright Eyes. I guess they were considered copycats at the time, but I had never heard of them until now. Listening and the dudes voice really does sound like Conor’s haha.

  16. "Today I Saw Your Face" was on a comp I listened to a ton and I love that song. Never got into the album though. Absolutely a Bright Eyes ripoff.

"Like a Locket, Like a Necklace, Like a Bracelet" was such a Fevers era rip-off title...I even thought the Dashboard "A Mark, A Mission, A Brand, A Scar" album title at that time was inspired by "A Spindle, a Darkness, a Fever, and a Necklace"

i was literally just listening to that song. i never even checked out their first album but holy shit that song is a direct ripoff of june on the west coast. wasn't even trying to hide it.

I was just thinking about them recently because a couple songs on the Friko album sound almost exactly like Bright Eyes to me, but somehow it reads completely different there. (probably because it's 20 years later and because the album branches pretty quickly from there after track 1)

Hated An Angle so much. Brazen ripoff. Even the cover art looked like Fevers and Mirrors. Also a song called “Did You, Did You, Did You”. I was a Bright Eyes devout in high school, so that band bothered me to no end.

I think it reads different because Friko is influenced by Bright Eyes but still have their own songwriting style. An Angle was practically committing identity theft lol.

yup. and I totally forgot about the song titles - it was shameless.

Only listened to their ”hits” off their last two LPs like C’mon, C’mon & Greenwater. I recognized the rip-off tendencies but looked away haha.
