I've seen Bright Eyes five times in the last year, and the set in Philly on Friday was the best of the bunch.

 

What kind of shoes was Conor wearing tho?

 

Shoes are shoes to me, but Friday’s didn’t look ideal for skating. Maybe he could do a kickflip in Saturday’s, though.

A bit of an understatement, huh? I dont' know if he's fucking around here or not. given the messaging of desaparecidos, this is particularly weird to complain about your anar-socialist group not being popular enough. I feel like this has got to be sarcastic.

can't say I particularly enjoyed watching that performance, but you do you conor. stand in your truth. dance like no one's watching.

Also, seeing the orchestral players smile and have a good time is such a joy.

Each show having a different group of musicians sitting in and sight reading this music is awesome. When I saw them last Summer, the facial expressions on some of those musicians faces was beyond entertaining. A mixture of surprise, happiness, and confusion sometimes. Talented musicians getting to bring these recordings to life in a live setting is a gift to every audience.

 

They did have a rotating cast of musicians on the summer shows but I’m pretty sure the string section on this tour played at all the dates with them. Still really cool to see them enjoying themselves so much and Conor doing his thing..

the original influence for Dance & Sing is almost as good as the song itself

 

Yeah, this is the same group that's been on the whole tour. The different groups last year were fun, but this has been a lot better in terms of chemistry for the group and the opportunity for them to mix up the set night to night. Last year's tour was special for the band being back together with new music and coming out of the pandemic, but the shows I saw were better this time around.
