Just finished this. This movie is absolutely not anywhere the level of The Room, what a insane thing to say. A serious take for anyone who is on the fence about seeing this: The movie is pretty good, not great. The world is fleshed out and seems lived in. The relationship between Smith and Edgerton was good and their banter felt real and not forced. Both did a good job. The ending felt corny and fell flat, which sucked because the rest of the movie had good pace, well done action and a few tense moments. Worth a one time watch.
The only good thing I can say about this movie is the Portugal the Man song on the soundtrack is pretty good
I've been waiting for something to end Max's career, and that's before I knew he was a predator instead of just an arrogant, overrated prick. But, he just keeps gosh darn going. Did you know that he was recently developing a Pepe Le Pew film script? Yeah...
Content warning: assault, victim blame Seriously, freaking screw this guy. Who knew I could hate him this much more? Making fun of him isn't even funny to me anymore; it just sickens me. This just makes his already gross obsession with Lexi Alexander blocking him even grosser in retrospect.
Agreed to everything you said. Comparing this to something like the room is completely ridiculous. This is well acted, the action is coherent, film is mostly well shot, chemistry between the leads is solid, and the world building is genuinely interesting. It’s got problems, for sure, but it’s no where near as bad as the sensational negative reception makes it out to be.
Wasn't his response just "I'd love to see you write a script?" lol Also saw he retweeted Ike Barinholtz saying he was a few beers deep watching the film and loving it and then I checked the cast list and saw he was in it lmao
