the acoustic version of Forget Me Not is the worst Fallon song dating all the way back to This Charming Man. just... why. a couple of the acoustic versions of Gaslight tunes from B-Sides really butchered the melody and vibe of those songs but nothing like this lol
I'm not sure if it's more BAD or just UNNECESSARY. I love getting acoustic versions of songs in general, but this one just kinda lays there, lifelessly.
Maybe I'm in the minority but I didn't think the acoustic version was bad. The fast strumming in the background was an odd choice but it has a ghostly quality to it that fit the lyrics well. And the final chorus with the "little darling" in the background gave me chills. Definitely not the best acoustic track but I still see myself listening to it when I'm in the mood.
Wow. The intense negative reaction is kinda surprising to me. I think it's a pretty cool acoustic version as far as these things go. I've never been a fan of them really, but at least this one does some neat things with the instrumentation. The real version is obviously infinitely superior. When are we getting a tracklist for this??? And when do we find out about bonus tracks that end up being absolute classics???
I usually don't care for acoustic versions of songs at all and find them to be pointless and unenjoyable most of the time. Especially when they take a version of a song that has a whole band playing and turn it into just a person playing acoustic guitar and singing. To me acoustic shouldn't necessarily mean 'one person playing acoustic guitar and singing' - you can still have everyone playing non-plugged-in versions of their instruments. A band like Airborne Toxic Event has some great acoustic versions that still have tons of energy.
UGHHHHHHHHH. first listen, whatchya think about his “change” in sound? Do you prefer this or the more glossy Painkillers?
OHHHHHHH MY GOD I was doing okay with my wait until February. Not anymore. I cannot wait till you guys can release more info!!!
They definitely got the clapping part right in that video...so infectious. Wish the shots from the back of the room had a little more movement to them as it felt kind of same-y by the end. I always love when videos focus in on the singer singing because it helps me register the lyrics a lot faster.
update: the tracklist was posted on dimestoresaints, not sure on the etiquette of posting it since it hasn't been officially released but in case anyone's curious...
Can any of you lucky MF's who have already heard this confirm whether this tracklist is accurate...? I know it hasn't officially been released yet, so we can use a code - if this tracklist isn't not accurate just say "The chair faces due west".....
I haven't heard it (that would be nice!) but I'll say that using my detective skills I determined that the tracklist is accurate.
not to be a pest, but can you strike those three tour posters out of the OP? won't let me do it and it's cluttering pretty bad
Thank you very much my friend!!! I know I am a complete and utter fan boy, but seeing these track names make me even more excited to finally hear this album. Some really cool names here.
