I can't wait to see who he gets as a producer... I am torn on this because I would be perfectly happy if he only recorded with Ted Hutt, but I also like to see him mix it up.
I am really hoping he works with Ted again, but I am confident a lot of producer could do a great job with Brian. Speaking for just myself, I hope he doesn’t have Butch Walker again (that’s no a knock on the songs on Painkillers, just production preferences).
Just got a ton of tour dates for EU/UK in an email. Think link also suggest music is being announced “imminently”. I was sure he only just announced starting a new record. Gigs And Tours News
As amazing as that would be, I am not expecting him to just release new music yet. You never know though, maybe he held back a few songs from Sleepwalkers, or recorded a cover again or something.
Is Brian working with Peter Katis? I’m asking, not trying to start a rumour. Also, Chris Farren and Ian Perkins seem to be present in the studio with Brian.
I am curious whether the new album will be a left turn or not. Nothing would surprise me, and it will be awesome regardless, I'm sure
Big fan of his work with Ted Hutt, but maybe again in time. Katis worked on Gang Of Youths, so I’m optimistic. There are other good things listed on his resume too. Personally glad it’s not Butch.
Biggest things I know him from are early Interpol and The National, but he's produced albums for a handful of other artists that I like as well, Longwave, Frightened Rabbit and engineered even more. Everything I've heard of his sounds fantastic.
It’s an interesting pairing. Seems pretty logical to me, both in terms of catalog and location. I’d like to see another record with Brendan O’Brien, but there probably isn’t the budget for him.
Wasn’t familiar with the name Peter Katis, but looked through his discography and now I’m very excited!
