Naturally the first date after the Detroit show I was at he plays a Springsteen cover (Promised Land). I would have died.
i rly wish he'd come even remotely close to where i live in NC id love to catch him live. over time this has slowly climbed up to being my 3rd favorite Fallon release i think. its probably tied with Elsie
Extremely random and off-topic question..........is Goodnight Irene a cover or a Fallon original? Could swear it has been spoken of as a cover but a quick google search would seem to indicate it's an original.
From what I'm seeing on Setlist.fm, it looks like he's mostly been playing the same set each night. Here's to hoping we get "See You On the Other Side" or "Open All Night" in Philly instead of "Proof of Life"
Enjoyed his show last night. Kinda wish his band was more energetic but I suppose not every set can be Beychella.
It was just so different from the Gaslight Anthem, and any solo song he had done before. It’s very aggressive but still acoustic. I feel like he was influenced by his vision of Chuck’s music to write that song. Both are great.
Yeah, so when a guy has literally not put out a bad song, I have such a hard time imagining complaining about a setlist. Obviously, Brian is different than most folks - he hasn't played what's probably his 'biggest' song the whole tour (at least judging by what he made a video for and played on late night shows during the Painkillers release); he's playing what he wants, when he wants it. And I think that probably makes for a better show than just playing the same 17-18 songs every night that are fan favorites. Personally, I think the element of not knowing what's coming is neat. And works well for a guy whose every song is awesome.
That's true. I don't mean to sound like I'm complaining or anything, I just really love OAN and SYOTOS. Proof of Life is a good song for sure though.
I was a little bummed with my setlist and in specific not getting SYOTOS, Neptune, Watson, Little Nightmares, but agree that in general his setlist shouldn't matter too much..........IT'S ALL HITS
He sounded great tonight. He played Little Nightmares which was awesome, plus hearing “Rosemary” “Neptune” and “Watson” in close proximity to each other was special. The crowd was super into it too especially during the 59 Sound.
Stellar show in Jersey last night. Last Rites (The Horrible Crowes song) Play Video Forget Me Not Play Video Red Lights (Molly and The Zombies song) Play Video Come Wander With Me Play Video Ladykiller (The Horrible Crowes song) Play Video Bell Bottom Blues (Derek and the Dominos cover) Play Video Sugar (The Horrible Crowes song) Play Video Neptune Play Video My Name Is the Night (Color Me Black) Play Video Among Other Foolish Things Play Video Watson Play Video Downtown Train (Tom Waits cover) Play Video Rosemary Play Video A Wonderful Life Play Video Smoke (Molly and The Zombies song) Play Video Etta James Play Video The '59 Sound (The Gaslight Anthem song) (Brian solo piano) Play Video Don't Think Twice, It's All Right (Bob Dylan cover) (with Caitlin Rose) Play Video See You On the Other Side Play Video If Your Prayers Don't Get To Heaven
He’s not going on until 10, so hopefully he plays a regular set. The royale tends to have early curfews (mostly on weekends) so hopefully it’s normal! I assume people ain’t clubbing on a Tuesday.
wait, really? despite an 8:00 start? if he goes on at 10 in NYC i won't be able to catch the last bus home. nvm show's at 9 in Boston and 8 in Brooklyn
Just met Brian and Ian at Starbucks like half hour ago...tried to buy them coffee or something just like a thanks for the music but they've paid already haha...so I asked them how they doing and that I hope they will enjoy the show....these guys are so nice
