Got the preorder today. Limited Edition (Germany) with the 7" (Forget me not + Forget me not Acoustic). 2LP 45rpm. Love the record.
Random question -- does it come with the lyrics printed, and if so, can you tell me what he's saying in the outro of "Sleepwalkers"? "Where you and I go walking in our sleep x2 ????????????????????????????????????????? Honey, ain't this life a pretty little dream?" I think it's "big love, baby"? His annunciation is kinda weird in that part lol.
I know people around here tend to say that "Break Your Heart" is Fallon on songwriting autopilot, but I think "Steve McQueen" is way more fitting of that description. It has always sounded like someone doing a really good Fallon impression to me.
See, i'm on team Break Your Heart, National Anthem, Here's Looking At You Kid. Those are my slow songs.
That's in the chorus. I meant at the way end of the song he adds a little outro following the chorus. And the first line of it is super hard to make out
I am still holding out listening until tomorrow. But the crowd in here makes me optimistic that this will be even better than Painkillers. Also, anyone here who knocks "Steve McQueen" disappoints me.
This is true, it bothered me on first listen but doesn't anymore. Great song. And Here's Looking at You Kid and She Loves You are their 2 best slow songs in my opinion.
It slightly reminds me of that song from more of an instrumental perspective! Slightly! It’s still a slower Brian Fallon love song but I do enjoy it!
I'm bursting at the seams with the anticipation of listening to this album. Between seeing all of this praise and not listening to any leaks, I'm actually kinda proud of myself for holding it together as long as I have hah
"Neptune" is rising up the ranks for me...I think it has my favorite lyrics on the album. Classic Fallon nostalgia. "And what did it mean for all these years I spent chasing them Ferris wheels That were always gone like visions come the morning? But there's not one day I regret And I would do it all again 'Cause if I go down, Lily, I'm going down believing And I never dreamed that I would see you again And I lost myself for a season in Hell flying rolled down low like a window"
This is an album that had me grinning from ear-to-ear pretty much the entire time on my first listen-through, but I think I actually laughed, and said "Yes!!!" and like punched the air when he sang "cause if I go down, Lily, I'm going down believing" in that voice.
