Haven't listened to every clip a ton and am going to try to listen to nothing from now on until release. But the few I listened to sound great. "Her Majesty's Service" put a smile on my face. "Oh my, Lily, if you only knew... I only wanna be haunted by you" Not sure how it's possible that Fallon has gotten more romantic.
my bad, mixed you guys up in the first listen thread. Not a direct quote either , but you said it was your least favorite.
Yeah, it is. It's good, but it's a long-ish album and that track doesn't add a ton for me. Jason loves it though, so I'm sure there will be plenty of fans.
I'm holding off on listening to the clips. The 4 songs released are already good enough to hold me over for a few more days. I'm trying not to wear them out. I will say though, "Forget Me Not" still puts the biggest smile on my face when that first "STACY!" comes in.
He's doing a record release show at Rough Trade on 2/9. Pissed I can't make it, but wanted to send along. Brian Fallon | Live ā Rough Trade
I definitely could not hold off on listening to the samples, but now that I have I am going to not listen to any of it any more until it comes out. I love the previews of every song but more than that, the sound of all of it is so cohesive. I really love what happens when Brian Fallon and Ted Hutt get together in the studio. I cannot wait to hear Etta James in its entirety, and I would get gutted every time the preview of the title track would cut off after 90 seconds because I was getting so into the song.
Got my rough trade ticket, and it comes with a 2LP that plays at 45rpm, is that different from the black LP thats up for pre- order on his store?
I received a USPS shipping notification for something from New Jersey. I'm assuming that's my preorder.
Are there any options for buying this album that include B-Sides, that we know of? If so please let me know.
The deluxe edition on his website only pertains to the LP color and packaging. No bonus tracks as of yet. Could put them on a 10" like he did with his Georgia EP.
That "Watson" preview, jesus christ.... "Lord I worry when I get old I'll be lonesome, Chasing all the umbrellas in London, every footstep in Angel Station. Believing the scent of a perfume again. Watching detectives....chase the one that got away. The one that got away."
Here's an interview/article about Slepwalkers, the '59 Sound and Gaslight in general that I saw Fallon reference on twitter yesterday. Super interesting quotes about several topics. Brian Fallon: Great Expectations
