He’s playing the Royale later in the tour! I looked quickly and thought Holyoke was the only MA date but then saw he’s playing the Royale … ON A FRIDAY!
Gonna get shit for this but I really don’t like the dirty nil and I’ve been subjected to them as an opener a few times already. Will be arriving strategically just before Brian goes on for this one.
You like who you like. I hadn’t really given them a shot and listened to their new record and was blown away by then catchiness of their songs and honestly their musicianship. That said, I can see how a bit of their silly playful side or punk rock with metal touches may not be for everyone.
you can call me SteveDoesLIkeGoodMusic in that case because it's the fuckin year of the nil and i'm on board
So…I looked at Brian’s touring schedule and noticed a gap between early March and late April where there are not tour dates. Could be a little time off to to recoup….or….I wonder if he’s got a little studio time booked to work on a new record? Just a hope. I do feel like he responded to someone at Twitter at some point about new music in 2022 and he said something like “I hope so” or something like that. So maybe. That was before the new Divine Night thing was announced so it could have been to the fact that he was working on that. But we can hope. Just my guess for now. He also worked with Ian and Chris in the studio on Local Honey and Chris is touring with him after that break in Europe so maybe that just a coincidence or planned out.
Love almost anything he touches, not feeling these though. In other news...got my tix for the Howling Weather show at Count Basie, cant wait!
Looks like he'll be doing a different set every night. Also, I am proud to report that Elsie is finally clicking with me.
Even though this sucks for those who’ve had tickets, Brian has at least been transparent about his concerns. It sucks because there is a financial hit there for people and it undoes a lot of work that everyone wants to have happen. I hope for a new Brian record sometime in 2022 (originals) but I feel like some of that may be put at risk due to all these cancelations. Hope not, but it would be understandable.
I’m so bummed my date is canceled. Totally understand but man, I was so excited to see him again with a full band.
Looks like we may just be getting more Live From Home concerts this winter. What’s left at this point? Handwritten, Sleepwalkers, and The ‘59 Sound? Oh yeah, and Night Divine.
