Our top seven are very similar. I like Blue Jeans but never connected with it, probably because I only listened to the EP after already loving TGA's other works. My top 20, in order The 59 Sound Great Expectations The Backseats American Slang Mulholland Drive Miles Davis and the Cool Here's Looking at You, Kid Bring It On Mae We Came To Dance Old White Lincoln Get Hurt Even Cowgirls Get the Blues I Could'a Been a Contender Dark Places Boomboxes and Dictionaries Too Much Blood 45 Film Noir Handwritten
I mean going album by album. I think that part would be interesting. 59 sound probably wins the whole thing sure.
I believe last time it happened "The Backseat" may have won. It's definitely happened before, although I don't know if any solo/Crowes songs were included.
Hmm. I don't recall ever seeing one. Yeah, I would be shocked if the Backseat or 59 Sound didn't win the whole thing. Like i said, more interested in the song vs. song battles within albums and the commentary from others.
I think it was in the Gaslight Anthem thread - no specific album or anything. But it's like 200 pages at this point so I don't know.
I think a Gaslight bracket which includes solo work would be the hardest time of my life ... so I’m in.
I have no idea why but it took forever for The Backseats go really click for me. The moment came when I realised the ferris wheel lines perfectly encapsulated the entire album and band in one couplet. The entire anthem became immeasurably more impactful from then on.
I assume others know this, but BF released a Dylan cover on Soundcloud - "License to Kill". It is, as always, worth going and buying. Didn't see it mentioned in this thread. Enjoy
Good article here. Although it kinda bugs me when he says he didn't want to be famous, even though there were articles around that time that were ALL ABOUT how they wanted to headline arenas. Rings a bit disengenuous to me. After Years In The Spotlight, Brian Fallon Is Finally Comfortable With Who He Is — Kerrang!
It’s may be out in other places too, but that’s where I got it from. Ive been watching a lot of his Sittin’ Around At Home interviews too.
not really. He says it right in the article that something changed and he realized he didn’t want to be famous.
