I listened to a quick clip just to verify there isn't some other Australian Brian Fallon or something. Sounded like him to me.
I don't mind when openers are released as singles, necessarily, because the whole point of the opener is to set the stage for the record. But I will probably also not listen to the song if it actually is the closer. I prefer to hear closers in the context of the rest of the record.
I would've bet money that he continued with the One Word Pluralized album title thing. Two word title threw me.

The tiny little clip I heard sounded nothing like what I was imagining a Brian Fallon / Peter Katis team-up was gonna sound like, but in an awesome and exciting way.
The last Japandroids album was 8 songs and amazing, however, they aren't on "my most anticipated/favorite artist of all time" level like Brian so when I hear it is only 8 songs the admittedly selfish fandom side of me is sad because I want 12-13 obviously. But 12, 8, or even 5 new Brian Fallon songs will soar to the top of my most anticipated list.
