I honestly don't even understand the purpose of waiting another week. Shows how much i know about the biz.
The live version of Elsie is peak Fallon. I'm excited for Local Honey but really hope he releases an Elsie Part 2 album in the future. Sleepwalkers has that sound at times, but it's just not on the same level imo.
I think his greatness has been well spread across his projects and albums. I am quite happy with the variety of music. When I was worried he wouldn’t do a full band bigger energy album he did Sleepwalkers. I feel like Local Honey is sort of a cross between what Painkillers was supposed to be and going indie.
I couldn’t even remember when the rollout started. I think two months is kind of the max anyone should be doing these days. That said, excited to finally hear this. I’m a big fan of the songs he’s shared so far.
The release time frame is about the same as it was for Painkillers and Sleepwalkers. But still, given the brevity in length here, etc., it didn't have to be this drawn out. Also, given current events, damn, I need more material by him asap to hold me over.
I think it’s more the first two albums had 12 songs and the new one has 8. To roll out half an album or a third of an album is a big difference. Music is all great though.
The cynic in me was a little hesitant at the idea of a brief Brian Fallon album full of hopeful love songs. Now I feel like these songs are exactly what we need in this moment. Listening to Horses, I feel melancholic, a little sad, and also like everything’s gonna be alright.
I've somehow managed to control myself and haven't listened to any of the singles for this, I'm super pumped for Friday.
Just got a notification my vinyl preorder shipped today. Nice to have some good news with the NYC shutdown being in full effect today. Have only listened to the first single, so excited to hear the rest of it.
Surprised this hasn’t leaked yet. Especially considering that people could buy the CD at the shows before the rest of the tour ended up getting called off.
Bummed about the timing of this. Usually my local store has his records a week in advance and will sell me a copy early. He’s closed as of yesterday.
I dont remember if i pre-ordered this or not, but i imagine id have gotten an email by now if i did. It makes sense that id forget seeing as the album was announced 6 years ago.
Oh yeah, I love that color. Just preordered... these days it's more important than ever to support independent musicians.
I’ve been relistening to the Brian Fallon discography to get ready for the new album. I think Get Hurt might be my 3rd favorite (After 59 Sound and American Slang).
