The first season is pretty bad. The second season still has a lot of awful moments like the plane crash, but season three into the first half of season five is the best part of the show.
First season isn't bad, just ultimately didn't match up to the seasons following it which is a great problem for a drama series to have.
I was personally bored by S1 the first time I watched it, but I love it on rewatches now. Not sure what changed tbh, maybe just because I know where it's all building towards now
Yeah let it be known the meme does not represent the opinions of me haha i loved S1 and all following seasons and was never once bored.
I didn't love first few eps of S1 when I first saw but I also was like 15 then. When I returned to the show several yrs later nothing was boring at all
I just finished the series for the 2nd time. I love the end of the penultimate episode when the theme song kicks in as the police come rushing into the bar just to find the whisky glass. One of those "lets fuckin gooooo" moments. And I had totally forgot Todd killed Andrea. A note from Ozymandias: the scene where Skyler runs down the street. That whole shot: the tension buildup, the reason behind it, music, camera angle..... man it really makes Breaking Bad's darkest(tone) episode even darker. I'm finally now going to watch El Camino. Then maybe start Better Call Saul over.
People are calling the first season bad? LOL gtfo I don't see how you can not enjoy the pilot yet love the rest of the show. Blows my mind. They set the tone right away and don't let go after.
Breaking Bad has one of the best pilots of all time imo... When I first discovered the show in like 2011 on Netflix I was immediately hooked. Those first 3 episodes are nuts. Upon rewatch years later, and a decade of peak tv trying to be the next "breaking bad" the first season does feel quaint. But before Breaking Bad became Breaking Bad that first season felt groundbreaking
I recall watching S1 sometime back in 2014 I think. I started it and wanted to like.... did like it..... but I drifted off and stopped watching. I didn't love those characters yet. Months later and I attempt again once I started hearing even more hype about the show. Tuco stuff starts and that's what got me at the time for it to click. After that I binged it and was able to watch the back half of S6 as it aired week to week on AMC. Exact same thing happened with Game of Thrones for me except I was able to watch from S4(I think) onward as it aired.
I was 15 at the time watching season 1 and I distinctly remember watching the scene with Krazy 8 and the broken plate shard and being like "this is fucking awesome"
Show gets better as it goes which is pretty much the polar opposite of most other shows, so zero complaints from me.
So I can't have the opinion that I think it's insane people consider the Pilot/first season bad while they enjoy the rest of the show?
Wife has been blowing through her watch so my rewatch has been sporadic. Just got to crawl space though. So good
