haven't been able to read since then and probably won't until saturday or sunday and it's KILLING me

 

I’m finishing this by Sunday night I hope. But I’m also a manager in retail and you know what this weekend is.

 

pg 741 "..none will remain to weep." Thus far I think the the Dalinar flashbacks have been my favorite part. They're so damn good.

 

Chapter 109 starting now. I’m finishing this today if it kills me.

 

You know how in Way of Kings Shallan realizes the Parshmen are the Voidbringers and it's a pretty huge reveala?

Well in chapter 111 of Oathbringer (DO NOT LOOK IF YOU ARE NOT HERE): holy shit the humans are the voidbringers holy shit holy shit holy shit

Thoughts on how it compares to the other two.

 

WoR > O > WoK. But still pretty damn great. I thought it would be better than WoR for a large portion of part 4.

 

So, I was reading through this thread now that I got a ways into the book and trying to see what spoiler tags I could now see.

I just finished the end of the second part of the audiobook recording. I saw the two posts referencing this as “end of book two spoilers” and read them. I was just scratching my head because I couldn’t remember anything this was in reference to. Then i remembered the stupid audio book doesn’t break down the parts of the recording along the same lines as the book. So while I finished part two of the recording, I hadn’t yet finished part 2 of the book.

Lol I am an idiot and just spoiled myself. Sigh.

 

About 100 pages from finishing it and I completely agree. There's soooo much Cosmere stuff that's beyond fascinating, I'm very glad to have read all of the other cosmere stories before this.

 

I have so many questions about Azure (spelling? Listened to it.).

I’ve read all cosmere but the five mistborn sequels and the short stories.

 

OMG yes, I'll want to talk about Azure when I'm done. I don't want to say anything really stupid but I have some sort of out there thoughts on her at the moment. I'm assuming they never spell out exactly who she is/hoping that I didn't miss a painfully obvious clue, like I said I have my theories. And yeah that's the spelling.

Having read Elantrishas proven to be pretty helpful.

 

Still nowhere near done (~60%) but I'm glad that it sounds like there's a lot of Cosmere implications in the book, I dived into that stuff HARD the past couple months (Secret History in particular got me interested since that thing might be short but it's insanely important to the Cosmere as a whole).

 

Yeah you are very close to when it starts diving into the Cosmere hard. Way more than I was expecting.

 

I spoilered some reactions above to the Cosmere stuff but I tried to leave markers

 

Gonna get through a chunk of the book the next few hours but I just read Chapter 76 and... Dalinar's flashbacks have been incredible and this was maybe the best one yet. So hard to read, one of the biggest displays of the Blackthorn of legend mentioned in the previous books, with that completely heartbreaking twist. One of Sanderson's biggest strengths is being able to write a compelling, easy to follow battle/war scene and Dalinar's flashbacks have played to this perfectly. Fantastic chapter.

Okay now I read without distraction

at least until I find something else I love and feel the need to post about it to get it off my chest.

 

Lol what..I'm mad they waited so long to give us the Thaylen City map, I've been dying for one.

C79 spoilers/Azure speculation: SHE'S TOTALLY VIVENNA ISN'T SHE?? Zahel/Vasher said "like white on black" earlier in the book, a phrase that Dalinar was very confused by so, like the other color-based phrases Zahel has said, is clearly not normal in Roshar. She ended Warbreaker traveling with Vasher, potentially worldhopping with him? The descriptions we've been given of her so far are vague enough to fit Vivenna too.
