Finished Wind and Truth yesterday. I liked it a decent amount — more than ROW but probably not as much as the first three. I have a handful of quibbles, but the good stuff (Adolin's story and the ending/setup for the next arc) far outweighed the bad for me.
Knocked out most of The Sunlit Man in a few days. The Mad Max/Speed premise is great, and the all of the teases for future Cosmere stuff are intriguing. I assume a lot of you in here read it before Wind and Truth? I defaulted to publication order on where I read Secret History, but I actually do think this would have taken a bit of the impact away from the end of WAT.
Just wrapped up Isles of the Emberdark and really enjoyed it. I’ve definitely experienced some Sanderson fatigue as of late but this was fun. Almost like a Moana meets Annhilation cosmere book.
I must have a really addictive personality because I've never really experienced the fatigue most people describe with regards to things they otherwise love. If I love something I'll devour all the content regarding that thing with little to no time in between and never feel my interest wane. I definitely read Sunlit Man first though I kinda wish I'd done the other way around.
I get that for sure and I’m glad to hear it. I just think some breaks would’ve done me good. I honestly kept sticking with his stuff cause i had good momentum and didn’t want to forget or lose track of stuff - especially in Stormlight. To be fair, i didn’t really experience the fatigue until the last stormlights and some of the standalones. By and large, a wonderful connected universe experience
Anyone going to Dragonsteel this year? I've got tickets, a hotel, and a flight but still not 100%.My friend who was going to split the hotel with me had to cancel and it's so damn expensive.
Sick. I’m excited for this one. I haven’t read Peter’s stuff yet, but I’m familiar with his music and have chatted with him before at a local con, and I think this book’s going to be pretty cool.
He did a reading from the book (also on YouTube and will be put out in print) and it was awesome. It's another story Hoid is telling.
