WOR is February or March I think, and will be a Kickstarter if I remember right. Not sure about this one though.
Yeah, it's a great price, but I'm on the fence if I'll go for it right now. I eventually want to own all the leatherbounds, but I think I'm content to pick them up piecemeal via gifts/birthdays (/my wallet requires me to do so).
Starting Lost Metal. I'm on blackout from comments in this thread so I'll have to read them later. I forgot how fucking interesting, and Cosmere focused his Appendices are.
End of Chapter 15, I have a question, Should I know the three diamonds symbol as a cosmere reference? Or is it related to the story and will be explained? If it's the latter I obviously don't need an explanation)
LOL Chapter 27 Wayne refers to the mayor of Bilmington as a sack of dicks sewn together, is that the crassest thing that Sanderson has ever written?
Haha my money's on yes. Wit's insults/in sluts joke is up there too. Also, toward the end of The Lost Metal there's another bit of dialogue that gives Wayne's line here a run, haha.
Chapter 55 Ok, so Shay-I is obviously awesome but my heart broke a little at the possibility of losing Shai. Obviously she'll come back, but I hope she's not gone too long
Fully agreed. And this ties into one of the things that I think is so bittersweet about Era 2/the Cosmere in general (which I'm loving)—we're getting to see people change and adapt over an incredibly long time period. Shai had such a lovely character arc that I almost want her to just stay there and not have to change and grow any more. Kelsier doesn't have that same effect for me because he's still got some stuff to work out haha, but honestly, it's been challenging (again, in a good way) to see Harmony in Era 2 because Sazed was probably my favorite from Era 1 and I was so, so thrilled with how it ended for him. His new developments are fantastic, of course, but there's a part of me that just wants him to remain with the conclusion of The Hero of Ages and not have to go through anything else, you know?
Yeah my immediate worry is that Shay-I believes she's a god of some sort, and Shai said she needed to agree to return, and I don't see a god giving up their believed divinity for a "mortal." Yeah Sazed is tough, because it's great seeing him with this power, and he deserved it, not the heartache, but godhood. It's really tough seeing him with his hands tied in the way that they are, but plotwise, it's brilliant, the idea that he's battling with two opposing Commands. Speaking of Commands, I love that the main villains of the Cosmere are ideas/ideals. That's what made the Thomas Covenant series so damn good.
Wow, what a climax. Wayne was never my favorite character, I don't looove Sanderson's "funny" characters, but damn if I didn't shed a tear or two
Those are beautiful but I don't need another set. I've already got the Leatherbounds. I don't need them okay!
