The Rithmatist was really good. I feel like if you like the Comsere stuff you'll like it too. I adored the magic system and it's just as complex as any of the Comsere stuff.
Yeah when I had about 40 pages left and no answers I was starting to get sad thinking about the wait, ha. I don't want him to take time away from Cosmere writing though so it's a tough situation!
the long it takes rothfuss to write that the longer it will take for me to hate read it so I’m okay with that one give me winds of winter martin
Yep, I'll read it but I honestly don't really care when DoS comes out. Even with some of the...missteps of AFFC and ADWD, I'm still dying for TWoW.
Sanderson has ruined cheap magic systems for me. No more wave your hand and something starts on fire. I need everything explained to me.
If you ever want to chat about Shannara with someone, hit me up. I've read nearly all of his books (I fell a little behind a few years back, so I'm playing catch up now, but I'm expecting/hoping to be current by the time the new book comes out this summer) and he's one of my favorite all-time authors.
Y’all ever start Grace of Kings? Does it feel more like reading a history book slightly fleshed out as opposed to a novel to y’all as well?
I am about 3/4 of the way through. It is a bit more history book. But I find myself enjoying that aspect of it! For me, it is a nice change of pace from what I’ve been reading recently.
EXCELLENT audiobook experience that book. I’ll probably power through Dandelion #2. Just got New Spring on sale for $5.95 today on Audible and have Eye of the World sitting there and the temptation is getting far too strong to return to Randland. Also blew a credit on Mistborn #2 finally.
Haha funny you mention that. I absolutely loved it but I was about 200 pages in waiting for the book to settle on shorter timeframe, once I finally realized what that's what he was going for I was able to enjoy it more. It's interesting having a book where chapter breaks could mean years pass, and double spaced breaks within the chapters could mean months have passed. Mata is so perfect. He's really what made the book for me.
Ugh, so most of White Sand Vol 2 is great as expected, but the final chapter is done by a different artist (no narrative reason, presumably there was just an issue with the artist finishing) and its really generic lazy-looking, at least in comparison to the rest of the book. Major bummer, I get that that happens a lot with comics shipping on bi-weekly schedules and whatnot but for a graphic novel collection it just sucks. God I love Khriss so much. Like I did before, but knowing all that I do now...She's the best.
I found WoA to be the worst of the trilogy. Hero of Ages was incredible, can't wait for you to start that.
