It's a good song but doesn't compare to classics such as "FDU Anthem 2K15" and "Black Paint" imo

This sounds like something they wrote between YFW and Deja. I really dig it. Not as good as Mene though.

 

I'm not big on this or Mene. I might have said this somewhere else, don't remember, but I like it a lot less when they go for such a straightforward sound.

 

Was pretty hyped about Mene. Not about this. Don't feel like this is a progression of their sound at all. I didn't listen to YFW enough to compare it to that, and I don't really think this fits the Deja vibe/lyrics either, but it still somehow sounds like something they would have put out years ago....not now.

Still excited af to see them with Modest Mouse at MSG. Can't believe this band is playing that venue.

 

It's weird it's unlike anything they have done but I always imagined this version of brand new existed somewhere in the universe lol

 

I personally think the song sounds like the missing link between Deja and TDAG. I love this band, but I'm less impressed with their changes from album to album than most; while I appreciate how well they manage to control their stylistic changes, and TDAG is one of those albums I'd consider near-perfect, I don't necessarily think the trajectory of their sound made much sense post-Deja, and even less so from TDAG to Daisy.

 

Played it very loudly this morning before work, 1005 in.

 

It is definitely growing on me now that I have listened to it more. The lyrics are the highlight of the song for me. Musicianship is a little bland. Idk how to word it. I mean I know Brand New isn't known for crazy musicianship but I guess I was hoping for more of it. Either way, I am starting to enjoy it more than I originally did

 

The lead guitar is pretty cool lol that's about it though

 

Just such a strange song to release as the first one. Hope this means the album is diverse.

 

The Brand New merch store is empty now.

Song is good but not great imo. I mean it's only one song so i'm still super stoked to hear more. Def makes me curious as to what the rest is like. It would be funny if it's super misleading and everything else is heavier than Daisy.

 

Was just able to rig a Bandcamp download of the song, in FLAC/ALAC. Still can't get the file over to iTunes using just iOS though.

Definitely hear more details on the lossless, and enjoy the song a lot. The chorus has been stuck in my head since Monday night.

They made all their official announcements yesterday at 2:00 PM EST. I'll be refreshing the site around then.

Not expecting anything, but I've got the time this afternoon.

 

Tbh would take getting some new, decent merch for once, really didn't like the t-shirts with the album art with album title text beneath it, so cluttered...

I never checked, so that could be why things are down right now.

 

I'm really hoping the rest of this album is better. Song is so generic I already forgot what it sounds like.

 

Apple can't handle lossless, you'll have to download a program to change it to mp3. I use all2mp3, it's alright/free and you can choose how high quality you want the file to be. Obviously this will lose some definition though.
