This is literally so dumb. The victims don't accept the apology, that's the biggest concern I and I assume others have. We're on the victims side. You are not. It's that simple.

 

What decision? lol there’s so much about that situation that I don’t know. I read the statement and I read stuff in the thread that said not to take that statement at face value. Is rehabilitation an option for them? I would like to think so unless it’s way worse than I know/understand

I am sorry for the victims. But outside of them I don't care what anyone else does or doesn't do. I don't need your or anyone else's comfort to continue to listen and enjoy.

 

Maybe listen/enjoy the band privately though, out of respect to the victims or other people who have been victims of sexual abuse/misconduct

 

it's not up to us to decide what is right for evan. hence why it's good to have the decision to support taken out of our hands for now and we'll see what happens later

How can you find sincerity in his statement when he doesn't actually address the action he is supposed to be apologizing for?

 

This band is dead in my eyes, and their past was a farce. That apology doesn’t forgive what he did, nor change it.

 

UPDATE: This record (or I guess the packaging) totally smells awful. I left it in my room with the windows closed yesterday and it stunk up the whole room! Not great.

Where have people been finding success selling the record? Ebay?

 

He never apologized to those he hurt either. And in one case actively ignored them reaching out and seeking closure.

 

I sold mine for $200 on the Brand New trading page on facebook, but they have halted all sales on the vinyl until they are sure it's no longer available for $45 on the PMT website.

 

I got the Australian Press /1000 and I never intended on selling it but obviously at this point I don't want anything to do with it. I'll end up selling it.

 

Yeah, I sold mine for $250 on eBay the day after I got it in the mail.

 

I got mine in the mail. Opening it up was a super emotional process. I've pretty much already made up my mind to sell it, but there are certain parts of it I wouldn't mind keeping. Now I'm gonna try ebay.

 

I decided to keep my vinyl. It’s the end of my support & promotion of this band though. They’re just for me to listen to in private now, though that’s become a complex emotional experience as of late so I largely avoid it.

I sincerely hope they don’t tour or release anything anymore. It’d be best for them to fade away into obscurity.

 

Urgh. My vinyl just got delivered in the UK.

Seeing it turn up on my desk I sort of wish I'd cancelled it, feels a bit gross. Not sure what to do with it - will take some time and think about it.

 

with a little work I'm sure you could turn it into a dope frisbee.

maybe people will mistake it for a UFO and then it will truly become Science Fiction.

 

If these scumbags ever tour again I hope they get bottled. The sexual predator and his band of enablers don't get to ride off into the sunset on their own terms. How fucking dare they even consider appearing on stage again when their collective response to the allegations was fucking worthless. Fuck them all.

 

So... my vinyl finally arrived. The packaging was wet/damp, the records outer ‘cover’ was torn... ultimately disappointing. I guess it resembles the state of the band now though.

 

Wonder if any of the people who had to manually package these things caught wind of the news and just said, "fuck it."
