ugh I can't believe I have to say this but can we really not sit here and pass judgment on those who didn't cancel their vinyl order? There are honestly a million reasons why someone would have kept the order, none of which are yours to judge.

I don't blame Zack at all for stepping back from social media right now. I feel the same exact way and I deleted my facebook for weeks after this all came out.

I just wish everyone would remember that "public personas" are real, live people with complex feelings and emotions. We so often expect people in the public eye to be perfect and say precisely the right thing but at the end of the day we're all flawed. All we can do is continue to try and do better.

(and that last sentence is NOT about jesse lacey. it's about..pretty much everyone else involved, and even people on this forum too)

 

Personally if one of the reasons someone didn't cancel is becuse they think Jesse did no wrong I think that's a place to judge. Not saying that's why anyone here didn't cancel but to say there's no reasons to judge is false

I actually almost edited it to clarify that. I wanted to change it to say "there are a million reasons why someone can condemn jesse/his actions and not cancel their order"

I think he’s in a tough spot legally, but I think it’s actually good that he stepped away. What I wanted and what was necessary was a condemnation of people attacking victims, a clear separation from the band, etc. I think it’s important to remember these are human beings. Zack didn’t abuse anyone. I truly believe he had no idea about this. He was as blindsided as the rest of us and he did the right thing after trying to decide the best way to do it. Better than keeping his job, not saying a single thing, continuing to be a loud presence in the scene. It’s unfair to say he’s a total piece of shit when he did what people want of those associated with abusers to do.

 

I would gladly go away for $50.
