There has been tons of catchy material post Deja. I think You Won't Know is super catchy in it's own way, even.

Do I want a full 10-12 song, 40-60 minute, album? Yes.

But new Brand New is new Brand New, and that's exciting to me no matter what it is.

 

I totally agree. I'd say the same for "Jesus" and even "Sink" and "Brought a Bride." Actually like the latter's hook more than what they did here - I think it pops a little more and while we call that production "raw" now, it has a little more heat to it than this.

 

Bought a Bride is one of their catchiest songs yeah, those lyrics tho...

 

Sink gets stuck in my head so easily. That guitar lick to start it. So good.

 

I have, but I'd like to own my favourite band's music on vinyl but can't if it's that expensive for a single. If banquet are carrying it its a complete non issue now so no need to dwell on it

 

Archers and Not the Sun are up there in the "all time favorite songs" category for me. The latter especially, the second half of that track is immaculate.

 

I do like this song a lot, not as much as Archers but it's still good, just catch myself thinking if I wasn't such a big fanboy would I think the same

 

I was legit going to make and Alkaline Trio camparison. Not sure if it's because of Skiba/Blink being on the brain, but the lyrics, the way it's sung, and a lot of the music (minus the somewhat simple but still too complex for Trio lead guitar parts) gave me some Trio vibes haha.

 

I wouldn't call this nearly as urgent or impressive as "Archers," not by a long shot. The drumming alone on that song knocks it up into another category.

 

It's not as good as anything on daisy or tdag but I rate those albums ridiculously highly

 

Well, imo Archers is tons better than this, but point taken anyway.

Love this song, especially the guitar.

 

The fact that it was a Brand New thread and Jason used the word heat, my mind instantly went to that Shone stuff haha. I am still to this day baffled by that whole thing.

 

Thankfully my mind's blocked it, and that album, almost completely from memory.

 

Haha I wish I could do the same as you! Shone was the Little Orphan Annie scene of A Christmas Story for music listeners imo.

Back on topic. I am in a holding pattern hearing this song properly. Like the Blink single, I tried listening on my phone at a low volume and it just doesn't work. I don't know why I continue to do such a thing. It's terrible and a waste of data.
